Job Responsibilities of the Nuclear Med Tech Perform diagnostic medical imaging procedures using radiopharmaceuticals and medical imaging equipment. Follow departmental protocols to provide accurate diagnostic images for physician review and treatment planning. Ensure strict adherence to radiation safety standards and proper disposal of radioactive agents in accordance with Federal, State, and Hospital policies. Document daily calibrations, flood films, dose calibrator accuracy checks, and hot lab area surveys as required. Safely handle radiopharmaceuticals and follow radiation safety procedures at all times. Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals as prescribed by the physician, following established protocols. Conduct periodic quality control tests and maintain detailed documentation according to hospital policies. Demonstrate a commitment to the core values of integrity, excellence, and collaboration within the healthcare setting.Requirements of the Nuclear Med Tech: Education: Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology or an accepted and approved equivalent program. Current State Licensure as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist is required. BLS (Basic Life Support) certification is required. Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) is required.
