As a Software Engineering intern at Astrolab, you will have the unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge software solutions for our rovers, contributing to our ambitious mission to the Moon. This role suits students or recent graduates passionate about space technology, software development, robotics, and vehicles eager to gain hands-on experience in a pioneering space exploration company.What you'll do:Assist in designing, developing, and maintaining vehicle, ground, and test software in support of development and operation of Astrolab’s FLEX roverCollaborate with cross-functional teams, including Software engineers, Mechanical engineers, and Avionics engineers, to ensure seamless integration of software solutionsParticipate in software testing and debugging to ensure reliability and performance in extreme environments Contribute to developing tools and scripts for data analysis and mission simulationEngage in code reviews and contribute to software documentationStay updated with the latest robotics, software engineering, and space exploration advancementsWhat you'll bring:Education: Currently pursuing or recently graduated with a STEM-related degree (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, or Aerospace Engineering) Experience: At least 3 months of applied engineering experience outside of the classroom, including research, extracurricular project teams, personal projects, or prior internship/work experienceProficiency in programming languages such as C++, Python, or similar general-purpose programming languages Experience developing and testing software for engineering applications (e.g. robotics, rockets, electric vehicles, UAVs, or similar) Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environmentPassion for space technology and a keen interest in software development, robotics and vehiclesBenefits and PerksJoin a team of best-in-class engineers building the foundation of planetary surface explorationWeekly lunch stipend, plus complimentary on-site snacks and beveragesMonthly on-site social hour with food and drinksRelocation support and housing stipend for interns who relocate within 10 miles of the office
