Apply via Dice today!The Data Center Sites Technician III will be responsible for day-to-day data center support activities, including but not limited to: server and network hardware installation, copper / fiber-optic cabling, "layer II" troubleshooting and IT asset management. Sites III Technician to monitor and respond to hardware and software issues, utilizing industry standard ticketing system and to provide clear, timely and appropriate customer communications. Sites III Technician activities to be governed by Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Program, Safety and Security Policies in order to meet requirements for quality and quantity of work. Sites III will be required to join an on-call rotation for after hours support. Sites III Technicians actively participate in the change management process, both checking in a monitoring production and preventative maintenances.Required Skills:Able to safely lift and move a minimum of 50 poundsAble to be on feet majority of work dayFluency in both written and spoken EnglishMust provide own transportation to work location(s)Must be able to respond to any on-call request within 1 hourAble to update asset management data as required, using scannersEffectively utilize ITSM / DCIM workflow management systemAble to manage server, switch, router, storage and other hardware lifecycle processesAble to understand how to correctly and effectively run cabling - e.g. power, Cat6, SM/MM fiber optic and IBStrong communication skills required to properly document tickets, send customer emails and communicate within the teamStrong proclivity towards multitasking and adaptivityMust be punctual and reliableMust have good organization skillsMust have good interpersonal skills for working in a team environmentMust have good time management skills, be goal oriented to deliver good quantity/quality of workMust be willing to work as part of a team, but also on individual projectsAble to operate material handling equipment - pallet jacks and forklifts, if certifiedExperience with O365 software desiredAble to learn new systems, methodologies and procedures, including different types software/ hardwareRequired Experience:3-5 years Rack and Stack experienceOS provisioning/reprovisioning (e.g., from USB or network share)Boot strapping network devices and configuring IP addresses on these devices2-3 years basic Linux and scripting experience (e.g., checkout repo from GitHub, set up Linux environment, run and troubleshoot Ansible script)CompTIA Server+ certification (preferred)ITIL Foundation certification (preferred)DNS/DHCPWorking knowledge of one or more ticketing systems, Jira preferredWorking knowledge of server hardware (HP, Dell, Supermicro servers)Working knowledge of basic networking components and protocols (Cisco, Arista, Juniper)Knowledgeable in data center practices (e.g. fault tolerance, redundant cabling, calculating power usage, teaming, etc.)Strong cable management skills and experience running fiber and copper in a data centerBasic understanding of electrical, HVAC, and cable infrastructureExcellent verbal and written communication skillsCertifications in Data Center technologies are desired.
