This position will participate in biomechanics research projects in conjunction with research assistants, sports scientists and clinical faculty at the Banner Sports Medicine Scottsdale facility, including the Banner High Performance Center.The successful candidate will fulfill the responsibilities of a faculty member in the Department of Orthopaedics, actively participate in teaching, research and/or scholarly work, and must qualify for an appointment at the rank of assistant, associate or full professor.The successful candidate will meet the requirements of a career track faculty according to the College and University guidelines.The University of Arizona College of Medicine - Phoenix anchors the 28-acre Phoenix Biosciences Core (PCB) campus in the heart of the Valley of the Sun. For more information about working at the University of Arizona and relocation services, please click hereDuties & ResponsibilitiesProvide expertise in the development, implementation, oversight and evaluation of athletic performance using high speed marker-less camera systems, force plate technology and data integration software for all sports including, but not limited to, baseball, softball, basketball, sprinting, golf, volleyball, soccer and football.Establish a nationally recognized academic research program in collaboration with Banner – University Medical Group (BUMG) orthopaedic surgeons and sports medicine physicians. Research focus to be on musculoskeletal biomechanics, human movement science and concussion with local and national grant funding opportunities to be a key driver to this program. Strong grant writing skills and expertise are essential functions.Responsible for the development of human movement assessment designed to personalize injury prevention programs for all athletes and teams of all ages and athletic ability. Implementation of these comprehensive assessments and programs will include strength and conditioning, athletic enhancement and injury prevention.Develop and maintain quality control and system infrastructure as it relates to data collection from human performance and integrate into treatment protocols that integrate training for athletes of all levels and ages.
