Manufacturing Engineer

This is a full-time onsite position based in Simi Valley, CA. We are currently considering only local candidates and are not offering relocation assistance.We are looking for a driven and experienced individual to perform Manufacturing Engineering tasks in a fast-paced advanced technology environment. This individual will work under the guidance of the company’s Director of Manufacturing.The ideal candidate will have completed their 4-year Bachelor’s degree with an Engineering discipline and have at least 3+ years of recent experience in an Aerospace, Defense or Space organization as a Manufacturing Engineer. This person will be an intelligent, organized and trustworthy individual, with an exceptional ability to support manufacturing and production activities.Responsibilities:Plans, designs and implements manufacturing processes and improvements.Analyze layout of equipment, workflow assembly methods, work force utilization and establishing a manufacturing scheduleIdentifies parts and tooling needed to achieve manufacturing goals according to product specificationsDrive Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma techniques including value stream mapping, set-up time reduction, process improvements and overall waste reductionParticipate in MRB to assess non-conformances, conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions on parts and processesEvaluate new and existing processes to ensure safety and qualityReview new and existing designs and provide design for manufacturing input to the design engineering team.Consult with vendors in evaluating solutions for meeting product specifications, quality standards and specificationsIdentify and troubleshoot equipment and processes that are negatively impacting ability to achieve KPI’sReview assembly, test procedures, and provide constructive feedback to members of the product design team, as well as research and present recommendations for cost saving initiatives.Execute Process FMEA and develop procedures to mitigate risk during assembly and testingParticipate in MRB, assess and disposition non-conformances, conduct failure analysisDrive initiatives to achieve customer return reduction, capitalize project timelines, MRB reduction, YOY productivity improvements, and direct labor variance reduction.Skills/Qualifications:Excellent analytical and problem-solving skillsDeep understanding of drafting to ASME Y14.1000 and GD&T to ASME Y14.5 standardsA hands-on, “get it done” attitudeStrong communication and leadership abilityUnderstanding of electromechanical hardwareExperience with an ERP and MES business systemWorking understanding of a CAD platform – Solidworks would be a benefitAbility to work collaboratively with various Engineering, Production disciplines and other company departmentsCreativity and self-motivation to solve unique and complex technical problemsDesire to lead teams and be promoted to higher levels of responsibilityKnowledge of Microsoft products including Windows11, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, etc.Excellent oral and written English skillsSpace and Defense experience is highly desiredAerospace experience requiredHave the ability to obtain a top-secret clearance or currently have oneU.S. citizen or resident statusESI is a technology leader in cutting-edge servo motor controller technology for extreme environments.
