T&D Operations Manager

Brief DescriptionEnergize your Career at SECO Energy!General Purpose of Job This position is responsible for assisting in managing and directing the construction, maintenance and restoration activities performed by SECO Energy’s field personnel on all facets of the electrical system including transmission and distribution; assist in establishing work schedules and assigning work; monitor production of SECO Energy personnel and contracted resources; assist in developing construction and maintenance plans and annual budgetary requirements for manpower and equipment; resolve customer issues involving quality and continuity of service, relocation of facilities, etc. The position requires availability to work outside normal work hours including nights, weekends and holidays.Minimum Required Qualifications And CompetenciesThe following includes the minimum job requirements and essential duties for this position. Some job requirements may exclude individuals that cannot be reasonably accommodated or who pose a direct threat or significant risk to the health and safety of themselves or other employees.RequirementsEducationMinimum: Four (4) year’s bachelor’s degree in business administration, electrical engineering or engineering related field.Job related experience may be substituted for the required education as follows: High school diploma or GED with ten (10) years of electric utility operations with emphasis on construction, operation and maintenance of distribution facilities and equipment. ExperienceMinimum: Three (3) years in a supervisory or leadership capacity providing direct oversight to multiple individuals, electric utility personnel, and/or subcontractors with an electrical utility or acting as an electric utility departmental lead.Minimum: Experience with distribution electric utilityMinimum: Proficient in switching and tagging principles and methodologyPreferred: Two (2) years of as a fully qualified Journeyman Lineman or equivalent.Preferred: Experience with union labor/employee relations issues.Preferred: Emphasis on actively leading a large work team to complete projects safely, cost effectively and timely.Other RequirementsAbility to operate a variety of office equipment, including a personal computer, printers, copy machines and telephone.Ability to work irregular hours for assignment completion and flexibility to change scheduling and report to work on short notice during emergency situations.A valid Florida driver’s license for regular driving privileges of a company vehicle; must have and maintain an acceptable driving record as determined by SECO Energy. Frequent business travel to all areas of service territory required.Normal work hours will be eight (8) hours Monday through Friday, between 7:00 am to 5:00 pm. Irregular hours in evenings and on weekends are possible during peak business times and during storm season.Successful completion of pre-employment background check, physical and drug screen.Personal Protective Equipment RequiredLiving Requirement To ensure timely response to Call outs, employees must live within one (1) hour from the assigned reporting location.
