Classroom Facilitator

DescriptionClassroom FacilitatorPEACE Academy Charter works to promote educational and cultural empowerment for all of our students to ensure they are mastering or exceeding in their grade level content areas. Our strong focus on academics and cultural identity supports us in being an inclusive school that is heavily grounded in community. We are seeking a dynamic Classroom Facilitator (Teacher) who can contribute to our school community in addition to supporting the learning and development of our students academically, culturally, and socio emotionally. While many schools call the lead classroom instructor a teacher, at PEACE to effectively orchestrate a liberatory learning experience, we must have quality staff who can facilitate the classroom learning.EducationMinimum RequirementsBachelor’s degree requiredCertificationMinimum of SRT4-Certification in Early Childhood Education or related field (P-5); ORPassed the GACE Program Admissions Assessment or have exemption eligibility AND passed the GACE in Early Childhood Education preferredRoles And ResponsibilitiesServe as lead instructor for classroom instructionLead classroom culture steeped in anti-bias, anti-racist, and liberatory teaching practicesCreate, build, and implement a student-centered, problem-based curriculum to support students in mastering grade level contentImplement instruction and assessment practices for a diverse group of students Demonstrate skill in data analysis; ability to extract meaningful insights from classroom, team or grade-level dataDemonstrate a sound ability to create a positive learning environment that promotes positive student behavior using restorative practicesDemonstrate the ability to embrace differentiated instructional approaches to learningFind and build opportunities for interdisciplinary connections across various subject levelsBuild and maintain relationships with studentsEngage in continuous professional development and shared learning with other professional staffWork collaboratively with a diverse group of school colleagues, parents, community members, and others to support and implement the goals of the schoolParticipate fully in faculty and school-related meetingsSupervise Field Experiences and other school programRequired to have prompt, regular attendance in-person and be available to work on-site, in-person during regular business hours and as neededOther duties as assigned by members of the leadership team.RequirementsExperience:Experience working with elementary and/or middle school-aged studentsIdentity-based professional development or courseworkExperience with positive student behavior supports and interventions; restorative justice practicesDemonstrated effectiveness in working with diverse groups of students, teachers, and familiesExperience in a charter school settingKnowledge, Skills And AbilitiesExcellent leadership and interpersonal skillsDemonstrated belief that all students can achieve high levels of academic achievementDemonstrated belief in the mission and vision of PEACE AcademyKnowledge of strong pedagogical practices for classroom organization, planning, and effective execution of instructionAbility to communicate information and ideas in speaking and writing so others will understand Ability to be flexible and adapt as needed between in-person and virtual learning environmentsAbility to work under pressure and meet outcomes
