We are looking for you to join our team as a Principal / Senior Principal Structural Engineer based out of Linthicum, MD.This position is a part of our Structures Analysis team within the Hardware Engineering Organization. This position includes both leadership and support of analysts and direct execution of structural analysis projects on airborne, shipboard, and ground based structures. Analysis tasks will encompass loads development, stress analysis (static and fatigue), and vibration analysis of metallic and composite structures. Structural Lead tasks will include mentoring, estimating, planning, staffing recommendations, preparation of deliverable documentation and statusing program customers. Structural analysts are expected to work closely with Integrated Product Team (IPT) Leads/Product Owners to meet aggressive schedules, develop innovative solutions to complex technical problems, and advise program and functional management on technical risks and opportunities.Performing structural analysis on aerospace, shipboard, ground based, and space radar systems and structures.Loads development, stress analysis (static and fatigue), and vibration analysis of metallic and composite structures.Performing classical structural analysis, as well as finite element analysis is essential. This position is contingent upon contract award, ability to obtain an active U.S Government Secret Clearance or the successful transfer of an active US. Government Secret Clearance prior to start.This position can be filled as a Principal Structural Engineer or a Senior Principal Structural EngineerBasic Qualifications for a Principal Structural Engineer:Bachelors Degree with 5 years of experience, masters degree with 3 years of experience, Ph.D. with 1 years of experience in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics or related technical fields.~ The ability to obtain an active DoD Secret clearance.~ 5 years of experience classical structural and finite element analysis including static, non-linear, modal, and vibration analysis.~5 years of experience with Microsoft Office applications.~5 years of experience developing FEMs at detail and assembly levels.~ 3 years of demonstrated experience giving presentations to internal and external customers.Basic Qualifications for a Senior Principal Structural Engineer:Bachelors Degree with 8 years of experience, masters degree with 6 years of experience, Ph.D. with 4 years of experience in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics or related technical fields.~ The ability to obtain an active DoD Secret clearance.~ 8 years of experience classical structural and finite element analysis including static, non-linear, modal, and vibration analysis.~8 years of experience with Microsoft Office applications.~8 years of experience developing FEMs at detail and assembly levels.~ 6 years of demonstrated experience giving presentations to internal and external customers.Active DoD Secret clearance or higher.Advanced degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Civil Engineering or a related field.Software experience: NX.CAE (SimCenter 3D) / NX.Nastran, Ansys Mechanical, or MSC PatranHealth Plan, Savings Plan, Paid Time Off and Additional Benefits including Education Assistance, Training and Development, 9/80 Work Schedule (where available), and much more!We strive to attract and retain the best employees by providing an inclusive work environment wherein employees are receptive to diverse ideas, perspectives, and talents to help solve our toughest customer challenges: to develop and maintain some of the most technically sophisticated products, programs, and services in the world.The women and men of Northrop Grumman Corporation are guided by Our Values.
