You will drive instructional excellence across Scholar Support and inclusive classrooms by coaching, training, and developing staff while ensuring scholars make meaningful academic and behavioral progress. The SST IC, in collaboration with the Scholar Support Leadership team , advises the special education team at the school to ensure that the needs of all Star Scholars are being met and that services are aligned and in compliance with scholars' IEPs.Reporting to the Director of Scholar Support, you will:Instructional Leadership in conjunction with the Elementary School Scholar Support CoordinatorCoach, develop, & manage a campus-based team of teachers and aides dailyObserve each scholar support teacher at least once per week and provide formal and informal feedbackHold and facilitate weekly one-on-one coaching and development meetings with each scholar support teacherAnalyze data for Star Scholars regularly to drive decisions and additional supports for both scholars and staffTrack/monitor teacher responsiveness to feedback as evidenced by implementation of strategies, action plans and weekly goalsMonitor scholar-level progress to ensure scholars are on track toward IEP goals.Analyze instructional data to guide coaching conversations and professional development.Adjust instructional supports and interventions to accelerate scholar growth.Support performance management and professional growth in partnership with the Director of Scholar Support.Manage day-to -day school operations (ie arrival, dismissal, etc) in conjunctions with Campus Based leadership Teams (CBLT)Drive High-Quality IEP + Instructional GoalsProvide training and coaching in high-quality, legally sound IEP development.Support platinum teachers in writing measurable goals aligned to scholar needs and standards.Ensure instructional delivery aligns with IEP services, accommodations, and modifications.Support state assessment planning and accommodation implementation (e.g., PARCC, ACCESS, Science).Strengthen Differentiation & Inclusion InstructionConsult with Scholar Support Teachers and other stakeholders on differentiated instructional strategies.Support General Education teachers with modification of materials and differentiation of instruction.Provide training on inclusive practices that celebrate diversity and ensure equitable access.Support implementation of classroom assessment accommodations across general education settings.School-Wide ResponsibilitiesManage time, tasks, deadlines and responsibilities in a fast-paced environmentEngage in additional school-wide responsibilities, such as lunch/recess duty, hallway posts, events committees, etc.Receive continuous feedback from peers and school leaders on your practice and be expected to give the sameEmbody our core values of Determination, Respect, Enthusiasm, Accountability, and MasteryExhibit an unwavering commitment to high academic achievement and character development in our scholarsAttend and support monthly Family Nights/events that invite families into the buildingOther duties as required to fulfill our mission in the lives of our scholarsBe willing to take on additional responsibilities as necessary to fulfill Achievement Prep's mission for our scholarsYou Must HaveBachelor's degreeCertification, degree, or licensure in special education3+ years of teaching special education in an urban setting to children in historically underserved communities1+ years of special education coordinator or special education case management experienceAbility to regularly attend one to two meetings per week outside of normal hours (staff hours: 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM)It Would Be Nice for You to HaveMaster's degree in special educationIs this YOU?You are a mission-driven educator who believes in the power of education.
