Apply online at www.myChesters.comFull-time$27.00 - $32.00 per hourPermanent Position:40 hours per week on averageHealth, dental, vision, life, and AD&D insurance401K Retirement Package with up to 4% employer matchPaid Vacation and Personal TimeTraining and Scholarships up to $1,000 per termPremium Pay increase of .50¢/hour for all eligible employees working any hours on Saturday-Sunday, and weekdays before 6 am, or after 7 pm.Position Overview:Perform and oversee work in the areas of:- Plan, direct, and coordinate daily operations of the Grocery Department and Liquor Store- Meet sales, gross, and labor goals- Department scheduling and time card approval- Staff recruitment, orientation, and training- Workplace safety- Basic maintenance and repairsEssential Job Functions:- Oversee customer service and the customer experience- Direct and coordinate department production, pricing, and sales- Review performance data and assess goal achievement to determine areas needing improvement- Establish and implement departmental policies and goals- Communicating issues with subordinates and superiors- Interview and oversee the training of new employees- Work with other managers in planning and directing promotional activities- Oversee workplace safety in the Grocery DepartmentRequirements:- Previous Department Manager, Supervisor, or equivalent experience- Ability to pass a background check as described in the Safe Hiring Plan- Intermediate knowledge and experience with computer systems- Experience using office suites in a business setting, and/or equivalent education- Comfort performing various monetary transactions- Ability to communicate effectively and clearly with employees, customers, and vendors- Strong organizational skillsOther Skills/Abilities- Administration and Management Knowledge of business and management principles involved in planning, resource allocation, leadership techniques, and production methods.- Personnel and Human Resources ' Knowledge of principles and procedures for personnel recruitment and selection.- Clerical ' Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems.- Sales and Marketing ' Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services.- Active Listening ' Giving full attention, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.- Speaking ' Talking to others to convey information effectively.- Time Management ' Managing one's own time and the time of others.- Monitoring ' Assessing the performance of yourself, other individuals, or organizations to make improvements or take corrective action.- Active Learning ' Processing new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making.- Problem Sensitivity ' The ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong.- Critical Thinking ' Using logic and reasoning to identify the pros and cons to find solutions.Physical Requirements- Ability to sit and use a computer for a period of 2 hours
