Design Engineers
VISTA Technology Services, Inc. (VISTA) is currently seeking Design Engineers (Levels II-IV) to support Naval Surface Warfare Center, Philadelphia Division (NSWCPD) programs in Philadelphia, PA. This role supports Hull, Mechanical, and Electrical (HM&E) Land Based Engineering Sites (LBES) and Land Based Test Sites (LBTS), providing engineering and technical services across the full lifecycle of test site design, integration, and sustainment efforts. A hybrid work environment is authorized, with some required on-site support.OverviewThe Design Engineer will provide conceptual, preliminary, and detailed engineering design support for test site systems, facilities, and associated infrastructure, supporting research and development, testing, evaluation, and in-service engineering activities. This role requires participation across the entire engineering lifecycle, including:Concept developmentEngineering analysis and designInstallation and integration supportTest and evaluationAs-built verification and sustainmentResponsibilities Perform on-site investigations and facility assessments to evaluate existing utilities, infrastructure, and system capacity for proposed T&E programsDevelop conceptual, preliminary, and detailed design packages, including:Machinery and equipment arrangement conceptsMechanical, electrical, fluid, and structural systemsUtilities interface requirementsCreate and maintain computer-aided design (CAD) models (e.g., AutoCAD) to support:Piping systemsStructural and rigging conceptsSystem integration and test site configurationConduct engineering analyses, including:Finite Element Analysis (FEA)Mechanical, structural, and fluid systems analysisSystem performance and integration studiesModify and integrate existing facility and system designs to accommodate:New or upgraded equipmentMechanical, electrical, piping, and structural systems from multiple vendorsDevelop comprehensive drawing packages for fabrication, installation, testing, and operation of systems and equipmentSupport development of engineering documentation, including:Design calculations and specificationsMaterial lists and long-lead procurement inputsTechnical reports and engineering analysesPrepare and support design reviews and engineering milestones, including:Preliminary Design Reviews (PDR)Critical Design Reviews (CDR)Integrated Test Readiness ReviewsSupport installation, test, and evaluation activities, including:On-site engineering supportResolution of technical issues and RFIsVerification of design implementationPerform as-built validation and documentation updates to ensure configuration accuracyReview all drawings and deliverables for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with applicable standards and provide Quality Assurance (QA) documentationBasic QualificationsDesign Engineer IIBachelor’s degree in Engineering or Industrial DesignMinimum 3 years of professional experience in mechanical, structural, or electrical/electronic designExperience with CAD tools and engineering drawing developmentDesign Engineer IIIBachelor’s degree in Engineering or Industrial DesignMinimum 7 years of professional experience in mechanical, structural, or electrical/electronic designExperience supporting multi-disciplinary system integrationProfessional Engineering (PE) License preferredDesign Engineer IVBachelor’s degree in Engineering or Industrial DesignMinimum 10 years of professional experience in mechanical, structural, or electrical/electronic designExtensive experience leading design efforts and supporting complex engineering programsProfessional Engineering (PE) License requiredRequired Skills (All Levels) Proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools (e.g., AutoCAD)Experience with:Mechanical, electrical, structural, and/or fluid system designEngineering drawings and model developmentKnowledge of:Material specificationsFabrication methodsApplicable safety, mechanical, electrical, and structural standards and codesAbility to work in a multi-disciplinary engineering environment supporting HM&E systemsApplicants selected for this position will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.For this position, VISTA will consider only applicants with an active DoD security clearance.To learn more about VISTA and to apply for this position, please visit our website at www.vistatsi.com.VISTA is an Equal Opportunity Employer/Disability/Veterans Employer.
