Responsibilities Assist in the preparation of ingredients for cooking, including washing, chopping, and measuring food items. Follow recipes and portion control guidelines to ensure consistency in food quality. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace, adhering to food safety standards. Support chefs with cooking tasks as needed, including sautéing, grilling, and baking. Handle food items safely and responsibly, ensuring proper storage and labeling. Participate in menu planning by providing input on seasonal ingredients and dish ideas. Collaborate with team members to ensure timely service during peak hours. Assist with catering events as required by preparing large quantities of food. Requirements Previous experience in a dietary department or as a dietary aide is preferred. Strong background in menu planning and food preparation techniques. Knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling procedures. Experience in the restaurant or food service industry is highly desirable. Culinary experience with demonstrated knife skills is essential. Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while maintaining individual responsibilities. Flexibility to adapt to changing menus and kitchen demands.
