Job Summary The A&P Helper is responsible for assisting with the maintenance of company aircraft. The assigned A&P or Repairman will provide back-sign as proof of supervision, as per 14 CFR Part 43.3(d). A&P Helpers are expected to accumulate substantial on-the-job (OJT) training hours or complete through their own college coursework in order to test for an Airframe and/or Powerplant license. Payment for testing fees is available, subject to certain restrictions. Compensation $25.00 p/hr Schedule Days, Swings, and Weekend Shifts available Employment Type Regular Full-Time FLSA Status Non-Exempt Job Duties Ensure that all assigned tasks are carried out in accordance with the policies and procedures outlined in the General Maintenance Manual. Stay updated by reviewing Maintenance Bulletins and Memos as they are released. Aid A&P Mechanics and Repairmen in the replacement, installation, maintenance, and repair of aircraft components. Utilize hand tools or power tools to adjust, connect/disconnect wiring, piping, tubing, panels, and other aircraft parts. Support coworkers by providing tools and supplies, maintaining cleanliness in work areas, and assisting with holding materials or tools. Take part in the assembly and disassembly of machinery, equipment, components, and parts. Carry out tasks such as cleaning and lubricating machinery, equipment, instruments, tools, work areas, and other objects using power tools and cleaning equipment. Position vehicles, machinery, equipment, physical structures, and other objects for assembly or installation using hand tools, power tools, and moving equipment Assist with preheating, deicing, aircraft launch and recovery, servicing, fluids, snow removal, and hangar recovery. Required/Preferred Experience, Education & Skills Valid Driver’s License Requires ability to understand and retain verbal and written information. Requires knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, benefits, repair, and maintenance. Requires manual dexterity to assemble and disassemble intricate assemblies. Requires frequent lifting of weights of 70 pounds or more. Requires ability to stand on hard surfaces, floors, ladders, and work stands for extended periods of time. Requires the ability to work in extreme weather conditions.
