Registered Nurse (RN) - Oncology

Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - Oncology Location: Oklahoma City, OK 73104 Duration: 3 Months+ (Possible Extension) Shift: Days/ Nights, 36 hrs/week Block Schedule available! Any 3 consecutive days upon request.Job Summary:Under general supervision, this role provides nursing care to a diverse patient population with health needs ranging from simple to complex. The RN will assume responsibility for assigned patients, deliver competent bedside care, and collaborate closely with physicians and interdisciplinary staff. Essential Responsibilities include:Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients Document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments Assist physicians with examinations, minor diagnostic procedures, and treatments Obtain and monitor physiological data; intervene when necessary Administer medications as prescribed Initiate, regulate, and monitor IV infusions and blood products Communicate care plans with patients and families during hospitalization and at discharge Inform patients and families of hospital procedures Make referrals for patient care needs as appropriate Delegate tasks to support staff Perform other duties as assignedRequired Skills & Experience:Minimum of 1 year of Oncology experience in hospital setting.Strong knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, and proceduresRequired Certifications & Licensure:Current RN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or multistate compact (eNLC) Basic Life Support (BLS), ACLS - American Heart Association ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate Fundamentals of Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Administration - Oncology Nursing Society (ONS)
