Title: Choreographer, Collegium Center Stage Theater (CCST)Reports To: Director/Performing Arts Center CoordinatorSupervises: N/AEmployee Type: Part-Time/SeasonalSummaryCCST Choreographer provides administrative, creative, and instructional support to the CCSTDirector throughout the production of the CCST Spring Musical. The successful candidate willparticipate in creating and maintaining a professional climate that promotes student growth. TheChoreographer will assist with all rehearsals as needed but will primarily be involved in dancerehearsals and coordinating staging with the Director/Assistant Director and their vision for theshow.Job ResponsibilitiesThis list is intended to be illustrative rather than complete and serves to show major duties andresponsibilities and does not express or imply that these are the only duties to be performed bythe employee in this position. Tracks all choreography with provided rehearsal tracks and makes sure to communicateany necessary cuts to the pit orchestra director. Attends and assists with all scheduled rehearsals. Responsible for making sure all choreographed moments in the production areaccounted for and composed in a timely manner and in a fashion that is becoming of ourstudents while showcasing their skill sets at appropriate levels. Coordinate with the Production Manager to ensure all costuming works withchoreography in a way that students will be comfortable on stage while performing. When necessary, assist in procuring appropriate dance footwear for students.Qualifications Experience with theatrical productions (plays and musicals) as both a performer and aProduction Team Member Preferred But Not Required. Experience with choreographing students of varying ability levels. Ability to analyze and choreograph scenes from a theatrical work as needed. Ability to work as part of a production team and maintain a professional workingenvironment. Ability to adequately and effectively communicate and collaborate with other productionteam members, students, parents, and all other stakeholders to ensure student safetyand success. Required Clearances include Criminal Background Clearance (Act 34), Child AbuseClearance (Act 151), and FBI Fingerprint Clearance (Act 114), all dated within one yearof receipt Meets criteria for employment in a PA Public SchoolWork Environment and Physical DemandsThe mental and physical demands described here are representative of those that must be metby an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
