Position Overview The Tow Operator Supervisor is responsible for the technical development and safety of our driving team across the Tampa Bay branches. This role focuses exclusively on the education of our workforce-onboarding new hires through rigorous hands-on training and providing continuing education for existing drivers. You will ensure every driver meets Stepp's high standards for safety, equipment handling, and customer service. This is a full-time, salaried position with pay commensurate with prior experience. Essential Functions Lead the field training for all new light-duty drivers, ensuring they are proficient in truck operations, hook-up procedures, and safety protocols. Conduct regular check-rides and refresher training for existing drivers to maintain high operational standards. Train drivers on OSHA regulations and company safety standards to minimize risk and damage. Evaluate driver performance and provide technical feedback to help them improve their efficiency and technique. Develop and demonstrate "The Stepp's Way" for towing, recovery, and customer interaction. Serve as the primary technical resource and mentor for drivers in the field. Be accessible to drivers to guide difficult recoveries or equipment questions. Inventory and maintain supplies for all trucks at assigned branches Communicate Lot issues to the Lot Supervisor as they arise Key Behaviors Patient and educational, with the ability to break down complex tasks for learners of all skill levels. Stay up to date on the latest towing technologies and industry best practices. Foster a supportive learning environment that encourages growth and confidence. Required Skills & Qualifications Significant prior light-duty towing and recovery experience is required. Proven ability to teach, coach, or mentor others in a technical or vocational setting. Expert-level knowledge of light-duty truck operations and recovery techniques. Excellent verbal communication and the ability to give constructive feedback. Ability to train in various field conditions and fast-paced environments. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel for tracking training progress and schedules.
