ScheduleFull-TimeHourlyMonday–Thursday, 8:30 AM – 6:30 PMPosition OverviewAt mOcean mobility + wellness for animals, we provide a calm, thoughtful experience for our clients and patients—but behind the scenes, our team works in a highly efficient, fast-moving environment.We are seeking a Veterinary Assistant or Veterinary Technician who is comfortable balancing both: gentle, attentive patient care in the room, while staying organized, proactive, and efficient throughout the day.This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, meaningful client interaction, and being part of a team that is constantly moving, adapting, and supporting one another.Key ResponsibilitiesPatient Care & Clinical SupportGently assist with patient handling during consultations and rechecks using a Fear Free approachSupport acupuncture and integrative treatments by providing calm, steady restraint and monitoring patient comfortAssist with outpatient procedures and diagnostics, including:RadiographyMusculoskeletal ultrasoundUltrasound-guided injectionsBlood draws and sample handlingMonitor patients under sedation during proceduresSet up and reset equipment and treatment areas efficiently between appointmentsAssist as a scribe when neededClient ExperienceCreate a warm, welcoming environment for clients and their petsEngage with clients during appointments—our doctors perform treatments in-room, allowing time for conversation and educationHelp clients feel comfortable and supported while their pet is receiving careCommunicate clearly, professionally, and compassionatelyTeam & Workflow SupportStay one step ahead of the doctor by anticipating needs during appointmentsTransition quickly between tasks and appointments while maintaining attention to detailAssist rehabilitation team members as neededMaintain cleanliness and organization of exam and treatment areas throughout the dayContribute to end-of-day reset to prepare for the following dayWhat We’re Looking ForCalm, confident animal handling skills—especially with gentle restraintPersonable and comfortable interacting with clientsSelf-starter who takes initiative and does not wait to be directedStrong multitasking ability—you can shift gears quickly without losing focusHighly organized and detail-orientedTeam-oriented with a positive, supportive attitudeInterest in integrative medicine, physical rehabilitation and sports medicine QualificationsMinimum 1 year experience as a veterinary assistant or technician Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) a plus, but not requiredExperience with radiology, phlebotomy, or sedation monitoring is a plusWillingness to learn and grow within a specialty settingWhy mOceanWe are a locally owned, specialty practice focused on sports medicine, rehabilitation, and integrative care.
