Investing and Wax Assembly Process Control Engineer LPC

Position SummaryAs a Process Control Engineer you will be part of a dynamic technical team driving manufacturing efficiency and productivity in a plant environment. You will apply Engineering principles to technical projects while researching and finding innovative and cost-effective means to improve safety, quality, and delivery.Primary Duties & ResponsibilitiesPrimary Duties include planning, developing, evaluating, and conducting current state analysis and leading the implementation of technical projects towards future state objectives. In this hybrid role, specific attention will be given to reducing defects in Investing caused by the Wax Area as well as working closely with wax auditors to drive workmanship improvements both on site and at OSP facilities.Problem SolvingYou will be responsible to research, select and implement solutions to a variety of problems using logical and analytical engineering techniques.Communication You will collaborate and communication with various levels of the organization including production employees, supervisors, peers and subject matter experts.You will have the opportunity to present internal presentation and reports complex in nature to various members of leadership.You will participate and represent PCC on vendors and customer communications.Leadership & TeamworkYou will lead small groups and be a resource for the manufacturing workforce.You will be responsible for managing your project budgets and keeping your projects on track.AutonomyYou will receive general guidance on project work. You will have many tools, resources and experienced engineers to guide you and help you achieve your project objectives.Job FunctionsImprove the safety of the plantResponsible for setting the specification for the processing of parts through their area of focusBecome a subject matter expert for their area of responsibilityLearn JMP, JMP Live, and PowerBITrack department metrics and develop plans/execute plans to improve these metricsUse statistical process control to monitor the performance of the area and react to out of control conditionsReduce scrap and rework caused by their area of focusWork with Manufacturing Engineering to improve equipment functionality and implement new equipmentInterface smoothly with other departments to develop joint plans for resolving part problems.Work directly with multiple teams to successfully achieve varied goals.Perform audits to evaluate the conformance of the operations team to procedures and develop containment plansRun experiments to reduce process variability and reduce manufacturing costsWork closely with and favorably represent PCC with customers and suppliers.Maintain project plans and meet project deadlinesLogical and analytical approach to problem solvingDevelop and maintain Process Maps, PFEMA’s, and Control PlansDevelop and maintain Process Control ProceduresExperience & EducationBachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technical Science field (preferred)Experience with data analysis and statistical process controlExperience writing technical processing requirements for manufacturing or equivalentGeneral knowledge of materials science engineering, manufacturing processes and investment casting technologyManufacturing experienceRequired SkillsKnowledge and demonstrated ability in engineering principles and disciplinesExcellent communication skills verbal and writtenDemonstrated ability to communicate with various levels of the organizationDemonstrated high degree of objectivity and integrity in the evaluation of people and problemsDemonstrated ownership of an area and while partnering with other stakeholdersExperience with data collection and analysis with excelDesired SkillsProcess development or Process Control of Heat Treatment of metal partsJMP, Webfocus and PowerBIPFMEA, Control Plan, Process MappingDashboarding and Statistical Process Control implementation and sustainmentInvestment casting experienceSpecifically, Wax Assembly experience and or Investing experienceBonus To Have SkillsRobotic and mechanical systems experience3D printing experienceIgnition and/or PLC programingPython, VBA
