Supervisor Patient AccessNow hiring a Supervisor Patient Access for the Admitting department! As a Supervisor, you have responsibility of the operations and functions of the Patient Access areas. Responsible for Patient Access staff and completion of admission, registration and pre-registration functions to include insurance verification for PHS. Responsible for monitoring productivity, compliance and staffing for multiple registration points. If you have Patient Access, Admitting, and Registration experience, you are the ideal candidate! Daily rounding, supervisor tasks, possible front line coverage in a busy environment. Patient contact, being able to utilize your customer service, leading and mentoring employees. Type of Opportunity: Full Time FTE: 1.000000 Exempt: Yes Work Schedule: Varied Days and HoursQualificationsHigh School Diploma, prefer some college5 years of experience in related field required; with 1 year in a Supervisory capacity preferred Critical thinking and attention to detail.Effectively interact with customers to understand their needs and explain dataMicrosoft OfficeOrganizational SkillsDeal with all levels of staff and management within the organization, board members, as well as the public, under highly stressful conditions.Communicate effectively in person and via telephone with members, employer groups, brokers, physicians, and physician office staff using strong dialogue and customer service competencies.Work under limited supervision, self-manage work time and projects, resolve issues with minimal assistance.Written communicationBe flexible with hours, as staffing of 24/7 units may require flexibilityEducation Essential:High School Diploma or GEDResponsibilitiesSelects and assigns department staff.Ensures new hires and staff are appropriate trained to perform the duties assigned.Coaches staff as needed to meet quality and duties assigned.Initiates coaching, corrective action and performance improvement plans for staff for attendance, productivity and quality opportunities.Ensures established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental, and infection control standards are met and followed by staff under their leadership.Reviews Patient Access operations to ensure compliance with JCAHO, CMS, EMTALA, HIPAA, and other state or federal guidelines.Works with Patient Access Manager in monitoring unit productivity to identify areas of inconsistency and to optimize utilization of staff resources.Assists in establishing productivity standards and evaluating staffing requirements (both temporary and permanent) based on volumes.Is on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to handle any situation that arises.Other duties as assigned
