This role is required to sit in the Dallas, TX market in a hybrid office setting, for those who currently reside or are interested in relocation .This role is responsible for working with clients, architects/engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to plan cost factors for construction projects and program roll outs for Sevan's clients. Our Senior Estimator will be responsible for analyzing construction documents, proposals, and other documentation to prepare efficient time, cost, and labor estimates.Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesReview and interpret project documents to prepare clear, complete, subcontractor scope of works and bid packagesCreate project Invitation to Bid for subcontractors on Building Connected or other bidding platformsReview project documents to create RFI’s (Request for Information) for submission to ArchitectReview project documents to determine risks to Sevan and assist Bid Leader in the creation of the Risk RegisterInterface with other individuals in the organization to obtain support and commitment of the cost estimates.Visit project sites and provide Sevan with a detailed site assessment using Sevan’s Capture softwareResponsible for providing quantity take-offs of building elements to determine material and labor costs utilizing on-screen computer take-off software.Manage team in identifying qualified subcontractors and establish and maintain bid solicitation listsReview subcontractor RFI’s to determine if they need to be included in the RFI to Architect list or if they can be answered internallyInvestigate local market conditions and their effect on costs and scheduleProvide review of subcontractor quotes to assure they meet the intent of the specific scope of work and are in line with Sevan’s contractual requirementsCreate and estimate sheet breaking down elements of the bid using either MasterFormat or Uniformat divisionsWrite clear and concise qualifications and exclusions to proposalsSupport the Estimating Manager by Implementing tasks and process improvement objectivesIdentify cost trends to assist management in reducing costs and improving processesAny additional duties, as assignedSkills & AbilitiesExperience estimating in the construction industry, ideally for small site restaurant, retail, and residential projectsAdaptable to taking direction from multiple teams, operations departments, and team membersHave the ability to estimate multiple projects at the same timeAbility to provide quantity take-offs of building elements to determine material and labor costs utilizing computer softwareProven success as an adaptable, independent worker in a fast pace environmentQualificationsBachelors Degree in Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent; or10+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experienceDemonstrated mastery in the skills of Preconstruction, Estimating, and Project ManagementExperience in Government projects a plusKnowledge of Smartsheet, and Takeoff software (OST or similar), Bluebeam, Excel, etc.Familiarity with computerized pricing systemsCulture, Leadership and Employee Development Exemplifies and promotes our values of integrity, respect, teamwork, excellence, and charity Embrace key Sevan-wide initiatives, like Safety and Sustainability Communicates our vision and purpose through Service, Talent, and Choices Serves as a role model and promotes professional behavior Participates in personal career development through on-the-job training, attends training programs and assists in the development of interns / co-ops Sevan Multi-Site Solutions, Inc. is proud to be an equal opportunity employer committed to a diverse and inclusive work environment.
