Environmental Project Manager

Engineering Consulting Services (ECS) is seeking an experienced Environmental Project Manager to join our Environmental team in Pennsylvania. This position will be expected to sit in our York or Mechanicsburg, PA offices.This role will support our Due Diligence and Assessment & Remediation services - ideal for an environmental professional ready to take full ownership of diverse projects, develop client relationships, and deliver high-quality work within a 100% employee-owned firm.Key ResponsibilitiesProject Management & DeliveryManage multiple environmental projects simultaneously across both Due Diligence and Assessment & Remediation service linesPrepare and oversee proposals, change orders, and invoices; manage project budgets and assist with collection effortsDevelop site work plans including sample/boring locations, equipment needs, safety requirements, and subcontractor logistics aligned with client goalsEnsure all work complies with federal, state, and local environmental regulationsPerform peer review of deliverables prepared by junior staff prior to senior and principal reviewIndependently prepare and author environmental reports, analyses, and recommendationsManage client relationships and engage in business development to win new clients and projectsDue DiligenceConduct or manage Phase I & II ESAs including site reconnaissance, file review, sampling, and report preparationInitiate project setup and scheduling, communicate project progression and findings with project Principal, and manage full project closeoutAssessment & RemediationManage UST and AST assessments, ensuring properly licensed individuals perform the work in accordance with ECS safety protocolsLead remedial investigations and feasibility studiesSupport brownfields site assessment and remediation projectsAssist with water well installation and testingConduct hydrogeological assessmentsTrain junior staff on soil and groundwater assessments, hydrogeologic investigations, and vapor intrusion evaluations and mitigationTeam DevelopmentActively mentoring junior staff and support overall team developmentCollaborate with senior managers on staffing and project assignmentsRequired QualificationsBachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Geology, or a related degreeMinimum 5 years of related environmental consulting experienceProfessional Geologist (PG), Professional Engineer (PE), or other relevant licensure is preferredMust be able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds on occasion and walk on uneven ground through various terrainsIf driving for, or on behalf of, any ECS subsidiary, a valid driver’s license is requiredSkills And AbilitiesGood knowledge of environmental principles and applicationsGood knowledge of permitting processes, environmental regulations, and environmental investigation methodsGood ability to manage and develop new clients.
