Technical Architect

Job Summary:The Technical Architect is responsible for defining and governing the technical architecture of a modern, scalable, secure, accessible, and future-ready website and CMS platform. This role involves designing enterprise-level Drupal or comparable CMS solutions, including headless or decoupled architectures, APIs, integrations, and cloud hosting strategies to ensure high performance and reliability.Responsibilities:Define overall solution architecture and establish Drupal, headless, or decoupled CMS frameworks.Design APIs and third-party integrations to support platform functionality.Specify hosting, security, authentication, backup, monitoring, disaster recovery, and performance requirements.Guide content migration architecture and conduct technical reviews.Support environment planning and oversee technical readiness for deployment.Provide coaching and technical governance to ensure adherence to architecture standards.Required Skills & Certifications:Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information technology, or related discipline, or equivalent experience.Minimum ten years of software or web technology experience.At least five years in technical or solution architecture roles.Expertise in Drupal architecture, headless CMS, API design, systems integration, and cloud architecture.Knowledge of SSO/MFA, identity and access management, security best practices, and performance optimization.Experience with CDN, monitoring, backup, disaster recovery, architecture documentation, and technical governance.Proven experience delivering public-facing websites with structured content, reusable components, content workflows, enterprise search, accessibility, analytics, and third-party integrations.Preferred Skills & Certifications:Aviation design/development experience within the last three years with documented project descriptions and links.Acquia Certified Drupal Grand Master or Acquia Certified Drupal Site Factory Pro.AWS Certified Solutions Architect.Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert.TOGAF or equivalent architecture certification.Special Considerations:Strong emphasis on security, accessibility, and future-ready architectural design.Requirement to support cloud hosting and disaster recovery environments.Technical governance and coaching responsibilities to maintain architecture standards.Scheduling:Standard full-time work schedule; specific shifts or on-call requirements are not specified.
