Accounting Manager

Accounting Manager Location: Canton, MIPosition Overview: Titan Talent is partnered with a growing, privately held organization seeking an Accounting Manager to oversee all accounting operations for a key business unit. This individual will play a critical role in delivering accurate financial reporting, strengthening internal controls, leading the month-end close process, and providing strategic financial insights to leadership. This is a highly visible role with direct interaction across departments and exposure to senior leadership.Key Responsibilities:Own the full month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reportingPrepare and review financial statements, including balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow reportingMaintain and manage the general ledger, including journal entries, reconciliations, and transaction oversightOversee A/P and A/R functions, billing, collections, and payment processingPerform and review detailed balance sheet reconciliations across all major accountsManage fixed assets, including depreciation and related accounting treatmentLead budgeting and forecasting efforts, including cash flow planning and variance analysisAnalyze financial performance and provide insights into trends, risks, and opportunitiesDevelop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to support operational and financial decision-makingPartner cross-functionally to ensure accurate financial data capture and reportingServe as the primary point of contact for external auditors, tax advisors, and financial institutionsSupport the annual audit process and ensure compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirementsPrepare and assist with tax filings, including sales and corporate tax supportEnsure compliance with internal policies, financial controls, and lender requirementsDrive process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability within accounting operationsSupport leadership with ad hoc reporting and financial analysisQualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including financial reporting and general ledger ownershipStrong knowledge of GAAP and experience with audit processesExperience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysisHands-on experience with ERP/accounting systemsAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft ExcelStrong attention to detail with excellent analytical and problem-solving skillsProven ability to communicate effectively across all levels of an organizationAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentTrack record of driving process improvements and partnering cross-functionallyStrong leadership potential and desire for continued professional growthAbility to travel occasionally (10–15%)
