We stand for honesty, fairness, respect, efficiency, hard work, and cooperation.This position is open exclusively to candidates based in LATAM countries.What we’re looking for?We are seeking an experienced Senior Backend Engineer with strong Python and AWS expertise to work with an international client that provides life insurance protection targeted to the middle‑American market.The role focuses on application modernization and cloud transformation. You’ll analyze, decompose, and re‑architect legacy .NET applications, converting them into modern, scalable Python‑based solutions running on serverless AWS infrastructure.The ideal candidate has a strong background in building cloud‑native web applications, understands legacy systems well enough to navigate and refactor existing .NET codebases, and can produce clear, structured technical documentation to support knowledge transfer and long‑term maintainability.As a Senior Backend Engineer, you’ll design, develop, and maintain high‑quality software solutions that meet internal team needs while collaborating closely with architects and cross‑functional stakeholders to deliver scalable, reliable, and well‑documented systems.Key responsibilitiesAnalyze and understand legacy .NET applications to plan modernization strategiesDesign and implement modern Python‑based replacements for legacy systems, leveraging serverless AWS infrastructure (Lambda, Step Functions, API Gateway, etc.)Collaborate with the architecture team to ensure implementations align with enterprise engineering standardsIdentify opportunities for re‑architecture and process improvement during migration workDesign, develop, test, and deploy data migration and management toolsWrite clean, maintainable, and efficient code that meets coding standards and best practicesCreate comprehensive onboarding documentation and technical guides to enable smooth handoffs to core engineering teamsParticipate in code reviews and provide feedback to improve code qualityWork with QA engineers to develop and execute test plans, ensuring high software qualityTroubleshoot and debug issues in both legacy and modernized systems and provide timely resolutionsKeep up‑to‑date with emerging trends and technologies in software engineering and recommend improvements to the development processQualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related fieldAt least 6 years of experience in software engineeringStrong proficiency in Python programming languageStrong proficiency in Amazon Web Services (AWS), particularly serverless technologies (Lambda, Step Functions, API Gateway, etc.)Strong proficiency with AI‑assisted development tools (Claude, Amazon Q, Copilot, or similar)Strong proficiency with database technologies such as SQL or NoSQL databasesExperience with software development tools and processes such as Agile/Scrum, Git, IaC, and CI/CD pipelinesExperience building enterprise‑class applications with attention to quality and reliabilityStrong technical writing skills with the ability to create clear documentation for knowledge transferStrong problem‑solving skills and the ability to work in a team environmentExcellent English communication and collaboration skillsIt doesn’t hurt if you also haveExperience modernizing or migrating legacy applications to cloud‑native architecturesFamiliarity with .NET Framework/Framework Core sufficient to read and understand legacy codebasesExperience with Python web frameworksStrong experience working with serverless, high‑availability, and high‑scalability architecturesFamiliarity with enterprise architecture design patternsExperience with data migration strategies and security best practicesFamiliarity with Okta or other SSO & SAML strategies and technologiesBenefitsSalary in USD100% RemoteReady to learn more?
