This role ensures equipment reliability, safety, and performance while supporting efficient shop operations. The Mechanic reports directly to the Service Manager.Essential Job FunctionsOperate light-duty trucks, shop equipment, and diagnostic tools safely and efficientlyPerform preventive maintenance inspections and complete timely repairs on identified issuesDiagnose, service, and repair gasoline and diesel engines and related vehicle systemsTroubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and electronic malfunctions using diagnostic toolsInspect and repair brake systems, steering components, suspension, and drivetrain systemsPerform routine maintenance including oil changes, fluid checks, battery service, and filter replacementsTest drive vehicles to diagnose issues and verify proper operationDisassemble, repair, and reassemble engines and components as neededUtilize shop equipment such as lifts, hydraulic jacks, A/C service machines, and diagnostic scannersInspect parts for wear, damage, and proper tolerances per manufacturer specificationsRead and interpret repair manuals, wiring diagrams, and technical schematicsMaintain accurate service logs and documentation of all work performedKeep work area, tools, and equipment clean, organized, and in good working conditionTroubleshoot and repair electrical and electronic systems, including sensors and control modulesWork independently on standard repairs and assist with more complex jobs as neededFollow all safety procedures, company policies, and applicable driving regulationsPerform additional duties or special projects as assigned by the Shop Foreman and/or Service ManagerREQUIREMENTSClass A Mechanic experience preferredProven experience working on light trucks and/or engines (gas & diesel)Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills (mechanical, electrical, hydraulic)Valid Driver's License (required)Ability to meet requirements to operate company light trucksMVR requiredAbility to lift up to 40 lbsAbility to work independently with minimal supervisionStrong work ethic and commitment to qualityPREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS (not required to apply)TWICOSHASCHEDULE & JOB DETAILSPosition Type: Full-Time PermanentExpected Duration: Full-TimeHours per Day: 8–10Days per Week: 5–7Start Date: ASAPWork Location: BCR Shop / BASF (site orientation required)Uniforms: ProvidedTools: Employee must supply own toolsCOMPENSATION & PER DIEMPay Rate: $32–$36/hour (DOE – based on experience, certifications, and qualifications)Per Diem: $30/day (Basic Bengal)Fuel Pin: ProvidedCompany Vehicle: Not providedHIRING REQUIREMENTSInterview requiredDrug screen requiredDISA requiredMVR requiredValid Driver's License requiredMust meet requirements to operate company light trucksPPE REQUIREMENTSBengal Will Provide Necessary PPE IncludingHard hat, gloves, safety glasses (clear/dark), goggles, reflective vest, hearing protection, and gear bag.EQUAL OPPORTUNITY STATEMENTBengal is an equal opportunity employer and considers applicants without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, or any other protected status under applicable law.
