Radar/Optics Engineering Supervisor
Amentum is seeking a Radar/Optics Engineering Supervisor to support the Space Force Range Contract (SFRC).Essential FunctionsPrimarily Lead Radar/Optics team activity for the Eastern Launch & Test Range (ER) to accomplish the Space Force Range Contract (SFRC) objectives and requirementsGuide team members in understanding company vision and principles and work in concert with other engineering and department stakeholders to ensure successful planning and execution of engineering activitiesMake work assignments to ensure qualified personnel are available to meet schedules and responsibilitiesSupport engineering efforts to support sustainment, maintenance, and operation of the LTRSEnsure personnel are properly trained to execute their responsibilities and receive initial and recurring guidance, coaching, mentoring, instructions, and direction needed to ensure quality and timely serviceSupport execution and improvements to SFRC Engineering processes and proceduresUtilize resource management data tools to identify and resolve resource issues and support escalation and communication to managementIdentify and support the resolution of technical issues and handle escalation and communication to managementMonitor workflow to ensure delivery of products on time in accordance with SFRC requirementsPrepare and provide progress and status reports, and briefings as required or requested, to inform department and program management of anticipated performance success, issues, improvement initiatives, as well as recognizing personnel through the Amentum Recognition ProgramProvide cost and schedule estimates for various engineering efforts and task proposalsManagement of time accountability via company timekeeping system with approval responsibilities and resolution of any timecard issues in accordance with Amentum processesDevelopment of annual performance appraisals for each employee and the development of yearly team and individual goalsOther duties as assignedRequired SkillsStrong organizational skills with ability to effectively manage competing demands, prioritize appropriately, and oversee multiple tasks simultaneouslyStrong communication skills, both verbal and written for presentation and facilitation activitiesAbility to work independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment with both internal and external customers is essentialStrong technical, analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to work well under pressure to meet tight deadlinesSolid interpersonal skills to interact with customers, senior level personnel and all team membersSolid leadership skillsAble to develop and maintain positive working relationships with the customers, superiors, peers, and subordinatesDedication to achieving outstanding customer resultsAbility and willingness to mentor personnel assigned to your group as engineers, analysts, and techniciansRequired Experience Bachelor of Science degree in STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math)5+ years of engineering experience with the emphasis on Radar and Optics systems. Familiarization with ER LTRS instrumentation systems and sites.
