Respite Worker - Abilities Plus
Overview
Abilities Plus is seeking compassionate, dependable, and motivated individuals to join our Respite Program. As a Respite Support Professional, you will provide high-quality supervision, care, and support to children and/or adults with developmental disabilities while promoting safety, dignity, and independence. This role is ideal for individuals who value teamwork, professionalism, and making a meaningful impact in the lives of others.
Duties
Supervise clients and ensure social, medical, and personal care needs are met.
Implement individualized Program Plans as directed.
Maintain a safe environment and follow Universal Precautions.
Communicate with families, staff, and Case Coordinators.
Complete required documentation accurately and on time.
Provide transportation when required.
Participate in training and team meetings as needed.
Requirements
Experience working with people with developmental disabilities or autism highly desirable
Ability to work independently and communicate effectively.
Ability to lift up to 20 lbs., climb stairs, bend, and reach as needed.
Ability to perform CPR/First Aid and assist in emergency situations.
Ability to work in environments with moderate noise and occasional exposure to bodily fluids.
Strong patient observation skills to recognize changes in condition or behavior
Compassionate attitude with excellent communication skills and patience for working with diverse populations including seniors and individuals with disabilities
Ability to adhere to HIPAA regulations ensuring resident privacy at all times
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation preferred for community outings or appointments
