Assistant Attorney

Requirements and Preferences: Candidates must have a passion for public service and possess exceptional skills in statutory construction, administrative law, legal writing, and providing written and oral advice to agency staff. Probate experience preferred. This position requires a license, or the ability to obtain a license, to practice law in Iowa. Key Duties and Responsibilities: Representation: Legal Advice: Tax Law Expertise: Drafting and Opinions: Tobacco Enforcement: Statutory Interpretation: Legal Research and Writing: Collaboration: Preferred Qualifications: • Must be licensed to practice law in Iowa or able to obtain a license to practice law in Iowa within six months of job offer. • Exceptional abilities in legal writing, research, and statutory analysis. • Passion for public service, with demonstrated experience or training in tax or administrative law. • Ability to manage multiple complex assignments and meet deadlines.
