Job Title: Material Handler (Waste)Starting Pay: $25-30/hr plus OT availableLocation: Germantown, WIWork Schedule: 5a - 1p | 5-10 hours OT each weekContract to Hire - 6 month contract and then direct hireQualifications:5-10 years warehouse experience preferably with wasteGreat communication and be able to work directly with clientsWilling to get their hands dirty and work hardManager Notes:8-10 hour daysList of task to be completed before tanker arrives in the AMConsolidate drumsMove totes in and around the yardOperate forklift to move drums and totesMake rounds to the labs to collect wasteGeneral material handlingLooking for a hard worker with a good work ethicOur client is looking for a Material Handler. Responsibilities:Perform technical hazardous and non-hazardous containerized waste pick-ups and material movement from production areas and laboratories as well as assist the Program Manager with the segregation and packing of chemicals by hazard class during lab pack projectsConduct routine inventories of site waste accumulation areasBecome proficient in bulk Tanker loading from Hazardous Waste tanks in tank farmPreparation of chemical and biological waste for shipment and disposal, including assisting the Program Manager with creation of all federal/state waste documents and managing the paperwork for the materialSafe handling of hazardous waste containers on client sites, as well as loading/unloading of waste from vehiclesConduct chemical consolidations in central accumulation areas and production areas in required levels of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)Properly maintain and don the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment as required by each unique work environment encounteredPrepare and label containers according to regulatory requirements and company policiesDeliver Exceptional Customer Service: by providing outstanding support and innovative solutions to our clientsDevelop strong working knowledge of state and federal regulatory requirements ensuring our client's compliance needs are met (e.g RCRA, DOT, and OSHA)Coordinate and communicate effectively and professionally with clients, vendors, and regulatory agencies regarding waste management processesDevelop an understanding of OSHA regulations as well as Health and Safety practicesSupport onsite Program Manager with various other tasks as needed to ensure a safe and compliant operating programBasic Requirements:High School Diploma and 2+ years of experience or relevant military experienceAbility to work as a member of a team as well as individuallyMust demonstrate strong verbal and written communication abilities to effectively interact with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders, ensuring clear and professional exchanges of informationMust be able to maintain good attendance and punctualityDemonstrated ability to analyze complex issues, develop solutions, and implement strategies to achieve positive outcomesSkilled in building strong, positive relationships with clients and colleaguesAbility to work overtime on a regular basisMust be willing to work flexible hours within the work week (Monday through Friday)The Environmental Technician frequently handles hazardous chemicals and biological waste and is responsible for putting on and taking off personal protective equipment. This role is considered safety-sensitiveValid US driver's licenseMust have a reliable form of transportationMust be willing to consent to Motor Vehicle Record screening, criminal background check, pre-employment physical, and drug screen (inclusive of THC)Upon employment, you will be required to participate in a random drug screening program (inclusive of THC) as part of our company's commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy work environmentMust be eligible to work in the United States without future sponsorshipMust be able to lift 60 pounds on a regular basisPreferred Requirements:Prior successful experience in a customer service roleActive HAZWOPER 24 or 40 hour certificationWillingness to obtain Commercial Driver's License (CDL)Ability to work non-routine shifts (Sun-Thurs or Tues-Sat)
