When you join the growing BILH team, you're not just taking a job, you’re making a difference in people’s lives.32 hours 11p-7:30 a.m., with every other weekend commitment and a holiday rotation.Duties/ResponsibilitiesJob Description: Under the general management and supervision of the Nurse Manager and/or direction of the Registered Nurse, performs a variety of activities that include, but are not limited to,Direct and continuous observation of patient at a distance no greater than arm’s length from patient.Participates in patient rounding as and when directed by the Registered NurseEnsures environmental safety for patientAnswers call lights and ensures patient care issues are directed to the Registered NurseRestocking department supplies and precautions stationsTransports patients within the department and to in-hospital locations as needed.Clean patient equipment following the designated processCompletes patient safety sitter competencyCompletes all required documentation for patient careCommunicates any and all changes in patient behavior to the Registered NurseInvolved as directed with quality improvement studies and activities specific to the unit.Considers specific cultural beliefs and practices when caring for patients. Utilizes interpreter services for patients with limited English proficiencyPerforms all duties in accordance with safety and other laws, rules and regulations as set forth by appropriate regulatory and governmental agencies and in accordance with established departmental and hospital policy and procedure.Education/Experience RequiredHigh School diploma/GED/or enrolled and near completion of High School Health Sciences program. Registration/CertificationBasic Life Support current certification required within 3 months of hireCompletes Hospital approved de-escalation training during unit based orientation.Physical/Environmental RequirementsThis job requires frequent bending, carrying, pulling, pushing, reaching, standing, stooping, walking and lifting over 10 lbs. There will be occasional need for climbing stairs, lifting in excess of 50 – 100 lbs and sitting. Constant use of hearing, sight and speech. Frequent use of smell and touch. Frequent keyboard and telephone use. Constant concentration and problem solving.Pay Range$17.69 - $28.22This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement. The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. The pay range for this position is established and governed by the terms of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
