No Pay Information 52,000 Pay Schedule Annually FLSA Designation Exempt Position Summary Reporting to the Associate Director, Packaging and Loans, the Assistant Director is responsible for overseeing the financial aid packaging process, ensuring compliance with federal and state financial aid regulations, as well as institutional packaging guidelines. This role involves packaging batches of students through an automated process, as well as manual packaging students on an individual basis. The Assistant Director will provide direct supervision to the Financial Support Coordinator, Loans. This position also processes post-packaging reports, over-award reports, third party reports, uncashed warrants, death protocols, less than half time reports, and loan checklists and service indicators. This position will serve as a backup for loan certifying processes. The Assistant Director works with the systems team to set up and test the batch packaging process annually. This position assists with developing and updating all policies and procedures related to packaging and other responsibilities to ensure alignment with federal regulations and institutional goals. Job Duties Responsibility Area: Financial Aid Packaging Administration Duties: Administer and oversee the awarding and packaging of federal financial aid. Perform both mass and manual packaging processes to ensure students receive accurate and timely financial aid offers in accordance with federal regulations, as well as institutional policies and guidelines. Review and resolve complex packaging scenarios and collaborate with staff to support the effective delivery of student aid. Percentage Of Time 30 Essential Function: Yes Responsibility Area: Supervising Duties: Directly supervise the Financial Support Coordinator, Loans responsible for federal loan processing. Provide leadership, training, workflow management, and performance oversight to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant administration of Direct Loans, Parent PLUS Loans, Graduate PLUS Loans, and alternative loan programs while supporting exceptional service to students and families. Percentage Of Time 20 Essential Function: Yes Responsibility Area: Manual Financial Aid Processing and Special Programs Administration Duties: Perform specialized financial aid processing activities that require individual review and intervention. Responsibilities include administration of the UNO Vets tuition waiver program, processing death protocols, managing uncashed warrants, reviewing third-party reports, monitoring less-than-half-time enrollment, and completing other aid-related adjustments to maintain accurate student aid records. Percentage Of Time 15 Essential Function: Yes Responsibility Area: Packaging Reports and Monitoring Duties: Manage and review packaging-related reports to ensure the accuracy and compliance of financial aid awards. Monitor post-packaging reports, over-award reports, and other exception reports; identify discrepancies; make necessary adjustments; and ensure compliance with financial aid regulations. Percentage Of Time 15 Essential Function: Yes Responsibility Area: Loan Processing Support Duties: Support federal and private loan administration by assisting with certification, eligibility review, processing, and compliance activities. Work collaboratively with loan staff to ensure accurate and timely processing of Title IV and alternative loan programs while maintaining compliance with federal regulations and institutional policies. Percentage Of Time 10 Essential Function: Yes Responsibility Area: Student Account Updates Duties: Maintain and update student financial aid records through the management of service indicators and checklist items related to loan processing. Monitor outstanding requirements, remove completed items, and ensure accurate tracking of student eligibility. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
