Wellness Program Coordinator, Bilingual

Bilingual Wellness Program Coordinator (Spanish and/or Cantonese)The Bilingual Wellness Program Coordinator's primary responsibilities include a blend of administrative and direct service duties to support the Wellness Program and Project Open Hand's mission. The Bilingual WP Coordinator will supervise the day to day duties of the Wellness Program staff, process eligibility for services, manage program contracts, offer case management, and support the Manager, Wellness Program as needed to ensure contractual and organizational goals are being met.The required qualifications include three years' experience providing direct services in a social service environment, specifically to clients with multiple diagnoses, proficiency in MS Office, using databases, and internet research, a flexible schedule with the ability to work in POH's San Francisco office as needed, and bilingualism in Spanish.Desired qualifications include a bachelor's degree in a human service field, experience working in a nonprofit client services-based setting, mental health or social work experience, experience supervising staff, and bilingualism in Mandarin, Russian, Tagalog, or Vietnamese.Essential functions and responsibilities include day to day oversight of the Wellness Program, including daily supervision of staff and volunteers and program operations, overseeing training and daily supervision of Wellness Program staff and volunteers, assisting the Manager, Wellness Program with interviewing and screening of new staff, assisting the MWP in the employee evaluation process, helping to monitor and resolve client and staff incidents, coordinating, facilitating, and participating in weekly case management staff meetings, helping establish and maintain policies and procedures for the Wellness Program department, providing oversight to assigned contracts, utilizing a client centered, harm reduction model to provide case management to clients, ensuring proper staffing coverage for assigned contract and department needs, assisting MWP in representing the Wellness Program department externally and internally at community or partner meetings, developing and maintaining relationships with referring partners, being able and available to make decisions and answer questions in the absence of the MWP, performing caseworker duties as needed, and other duties as assigned.Job competencies/success factors include being a team player, self-led, sensitive to the circumstances and needs of the critically ill and seniors, as well as people with mental health and substance abuse issues, customer oriented, poised, ethical, decisive, knowledgeable, well organized, a strong communicator, tech savvy, a team supervisor, agile, taking initiative, a problem solver.Physical demands include moving freely about the building, sitting for long periods of time, using hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, reaching with hands and arms, talking and hearing, lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds, and specific vision abilities required by the job. The work environment is ever changing with new clients, volunteers, and staff members all sharing space and working together in the administrative offices and POH Grocery Center.Project Open Hand offers a generous employee benefit and wellness package.
