Logistics Intern

Position Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Logistics Intern to support our logistics and supply chain operations. In this role, you will assist in coordinating shipments, communicating with freight forwarders and carriers, preparing shipping documents, and tracking costs to identify optimization opportunities. You will gain exposure to international shipping, customs compliance, cross-functional collaboration, and logistics analytics in a fast-paced, operations-driven environment. This internship is ideal for someone pursuing a career in supply chain management, business administration or international trade who wants practical experience with inbound shipment coordination, freight forwarding and customs clearance. You'll work alongside our logistics team on real projects that directly impact our operations and customer satisfaction. Hours:Part-time (20-30hours per week) with the potential to become full-time Schedule:Monday - Friday; Training schedule has a 1:00 PM start time; once training is completed can start at anytime; Flexible to work around student schedules Key Responsibilities Work with freight forwarders, carriers, customs brokers, and warehouses to ensure smooth shipment execution Monitor shipment status and proactively identify and escalate delays or issues to ensure on-time delivery Perform data entry into company systems, spreadsheets, and databases to maintain accurate shipment records, tracking information, and logistics documentation. Prepare and verify shipping and customs documents including commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading (B/L), airway bills (AWB), Importer Security Filings (ISF), and entry summaries (7501) Assist with customs clearance processes, tariff classification (HTS codes), and duty/tax coordination Maintain organized records of all shipments, documents, and compliance materials Track and report on freight expenses, identifying trends and areas for potential savings Respond to internal and external inquiries regarding shipment status, delivery timelines, and documentation Support additional administrative tasks or ad-hoc projects as needed Qualifications Education:Currently pursuing or recently completed Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, International Business, or related field Experience:Internship experience or general administrative work experience is a plus Strong attention to detail and execution discipline Analytical skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel (experience with VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP is a plus) Ability to manage multiple shipments and priorities simultaneously Good communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with internal teams and external partners Comfortable working in a fast-paced, operations-driven environment Strong organizational and time-management skills Bonus Points: Familiarity of accounting processes, such as invoices, payments, reconciliation Basic knowledge of international shipping regulations, import/export processes, customs procedures and compliance regulations Knowledge of freight forwarding and transportation modes (ocean, air, truck) Experience in a manufacturing, importing, or trading company environment Bilingual in English and Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese)
