Under naics code: 541330 - engineering services for the u.s. department of energy (doe) office of science (sc) with service(s) also characterized as construction administration (ca) support services Job OverviewGeneral program support by the safety coordinator Duties and responsibilities include: Developing and implementing safety policies and procedures that promote a safe work environment. This involves working with management to identify potential safety hazards and to develop plans to address them. Ensuring that all employees are trained in safety procedures and practices which includes conducting safety orientations for new employees and providing ongoing training for current employees. Regularly inspecting the company's facilities and work sites to identify potential safety hazards and to ensure that safety policies and procedures are being followed. Investigating accidents and incidents and determining the cause and making recommendations to prevent similar incidents from happening in the future. Maintaining safety training, inspections, and incidents records. Communicating safety information to employees, management, and other stakeholders in a clear and concise manner. Staying up-to-date on federal, state, and local safety regulations and ensure that the company is in compliance with these regulations. Responsibilities and DutiesRequired education and certifications Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety, industrial hygiene, or a related field. Certified as a certified safety professional (csp) or a occupational health and safety technologist (ohst). 5 years of experience in a related field, such as industrial hygiene or occupational health and safety. Must have a strong understanding of federal, state, and local regulations related to workplace safety. Must be able to effectively communicate with employees, management, and other stakeholders to promote a safe work environment. Must be detail-oriented and able to identify potential safety hazards and develop plans to address them. Must be able to analyze complex situations and develop solutions to prevent accidents and injuries. Overall, should have a strong background in occupational health and safety, along with the necessary certifications, experience, and skills to effectively promote a safe work environment.
