Interim Controller

LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a large, well?established organization in the food & beverage / consumer products industry seeking an Interim Controller based in Cherry Hill, NJ. This is a highly hands?on, individual contributor role reporting directly to senior finance leadership. The position is essential for supporting year?end close, audit readiness, and ongoing accounting operations.This assignment is ideal for a disciplined, independent accounting leader who can step in quickly, assess the environment, and execute with minimal oversight.Interim Controller - Cherry Hill, NJDuration: 4-6 months, potential to convert to permanentJob Type: Full?time, ContractLocation: Cherry Hill, NJ (on-site)Pay:$48-$65 per hourDuties & ResponsibilitiesYear-End & Month-End Close Lead year-end close activities, including capital spend close-out, adjusting journal entries, and adherence to the reporting calendar. Manage month-end close: journal entry tracking, variance analysis, supporting schedules, and financial summary narratives. Audit Leadership Act as the primary finance lead for the year-end audit. Prepare, upload, and deliver audit support on schedule. Facilitate weekly audit status meetings and coordinate responses to auditor requests. Accounting Operations Oversee daily accounting functions: AR, AP, General Ledger, and route accounting. Review reconciliations and financial reports for accuracy, completeness, and internal control compliance. Load, validate, and reconcile financial data across reporting systems in partnership with IT. Systems & Process Support Support ERP system testing, including Microsoft Dynamics cash and AP workflows. Identify gaps, risks, or inefficiencies and proactively implement solutions. Operate independently and hands-on, reporting directly to senior finance leadership. Qualifications Proven experience as a Controller, Assistant Controller, or Senior Accounting Manager in a complex operating environment. Strong year-end close, audit management, and financial reporting experience. Hands-on experience managing AR, AP, GL, and reconciliation processes. ERP experience required; Microsoft Dynamics strongly preferred Highly organized, detail-oriented, and deadline-driven. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Immediate or near-immediate availability, with the ability to commit to a 4-6 month engagement.
