With multiple offices, more than 300 employees, and 7 divisions – Asphalt and Concrete, Waterproofing and Specialty Coatings, Roofing, Snow Removal and Parking Lot Sweeping, Landscaping, and Construction, DCPS provides specialized, integrated service-solutions to commercial property owners and managers.Position SummaryThe Roofing Estimator is responsible for evaluating roofing projects and producing accurate cost estimates for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor services. This role works closely with internal teams, vendors, and clients to ensure estimates are aligned with project scope and company standards.Success in this position is defined by accuracy, efficiency, and the ability to support profitable project execution.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare detailed cost estimates for commercial and residential roofing projectsReview blueprints, specifications, and project documentation to determine scopePerform site visits and inspections to gather measurements and project dataCommunicate with suppliers and subcontractors to confirm pricing and availabilityDevelop and present proposals and bids to clientsMaintain relationships with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractorsUtilize estimating software and tools for cost analysis and forecastingTrack estimated versus actual costs to support continuous improvementCollaborate with project management teams to ensure alignment between estimates and executionIdentify cost-saving opportunities and value engineering optionsStay current on roofing systems, materials, and industry trendsQualificationsExperience as a roofing estimator or similar role within constructionStrong understanding of roofing systems including TPO, EPDM, metal, shingles, and coatingsAbility to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and scopes of workProficiency in estimating software and tools such as Excel, Bluebeam, CompanyCam, or similarStrong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skillsExcellent communication and negotiation abilitiesDetail-oriented with strong organizational skillsBachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or related field preferred, or equivalent experiencePhysical RequirementsAbility to walk job sites and perform roof inspectionsAbility to climb ladders and work at heights as neededAbility to lift up to 50 pounds occasionallyWork EnvironmentThis role operates in a combination of office and field environments, including active job sites.
