Full Stack Developer Intern

Location: Remote - Preference for candidates based near our Andover, MA headquarters Job Summary:ALKU is transforming the staffing industry by being an automation-first, data-driven company where innovation and technology pave the way forward. We are looking for engineers who are passionate about building business-critical tools that automate away the mundane and inefficient, and enable ALKU to scale and grow. While this is a fully remote role, we have a strong presence in Massachusetts and prefer candidates located near our Andover, MA headquarters for occasional in-person collaboration and team events.Compensation: $18-$25 per hourDuties/Responsibilities:As a Full-Stack Developer Intern, you will work closely with a team of Product Owners, Data Analysts, and other Engineers in a fast-paced and agile development environment. You will apply a software-development mindset to solving real business problems with your team. You will do this by designing, developing, testing, and improving our custom applications and automations. You will have the opportunity to contribute to design decisions on our technical architecture, placing an emphasis on scalability and reliability.We are looking for future engineers who are comfortable working in a 'startup-like' environment and acting as primary contributors to our development efforts, our team culture, and our operating methodologies.Sample projects you could work on:Build a workflow-management app for our Sales teamsBuild a consultant-skill-management applicationBuild an API interface/integration that enables cross-application functionalityRequired Skills/Abilities:Familiarity with any combination of JavaScript/TypeScript, React, Node, Python, HTML, CSSNice to have:Experience working with AWS Lambda, serverless applicationsExperience with API design, message queues, RESTExperience integrating data from different systems (using APIs, webhooks, connectors, etc.)Experience building cloud-based data pipelinesBased in or near our Andover, MA headquartersOpen to occasional in-person meetups or team gatheringsOn-Site Requirements:ALKU promotes a fun on-site work environment and recommends that candidates participate in that part of the culturePhysical Requirements:Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computerEducation and Experience:Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree
