Job Title: Calibration Technician IJob DescriptionThe Calibration Technician I is responsible for applying knowledge of measurement science, mathematics, physics, and electronics to calibrate inspection, measurement, and test equipment across various disciplines such as Acoustical, Chemical, Dimensional, DC/Low Frequency, RF/Microwave, Fluid, Mechanical, Optical, Thermodynamics, and Time & Frequency. The role involves ensuring measurement accuracy and utilizing appropriate manual and automated measurement procedures. The technician will work under general instructions and apply job skills and company policies to complete a variety of tasks, recognizing deviations from accepted practices as necessary.ResponsibilitiesCalibrate inspection, measurement, and test equipment (IM&TE) in various disciplines to ensure compliance with published specifications.Maintain secondary and/or working calibration standards.Perform basic maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of precision equipment.Collect, compile, measure, summarize, and record data gathered during calibration.Identify out-of-tolerance conditions and perform corrective actions such as adjustments, component replacement, and correction factors.Identify and correct measurement errors, as applicable.Prepare calibration reports and certificates.Adapt existing calibration equipment, standards, and techniques to accomplish unique measurement tasks.Train subordinates in calibration concepts and procedures.Interact with other technicians, Customer Service Representatives, Account Managers, and customers.Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.Essential SkillsMinimum High School diploma or equivalent.Ability to perform general math and algebra functions.Strong written and oral communication skills.Basic ability to troubleshoot, repair, align, and optimize precision equipment.Basic computer skills, proficient in MS Word and Excel.Minimum one year of calibration experience, some of which can be offset by formal metrology training.Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.Attention to detail.Self-motivated, team player, and ability to follow written procedures.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with calibration, signal generator, pressure, temperature, torque, and spectrum analyzers.3+ years of calibration experience.Experience in pressure testing, temperature testing, torque testing.Knowledge of RF systems, radio frequency, RF testing, and test equipment.Experience working in a lab setting with electronics.Work EnvironmentThe role is based in a small team of 12 technicians onsite in Redmond, WA. The technician will have the opportunity to work directly at client sites after the training period, with 25% of the time spent at client sites and 75% at the calibration lab in Redmond.
