Position: Senior Architectural Designer Location: Atlanta, GA Based in Atlanta, THW Design is a multi-disciplinary firm with over 50 professionals, encompassing Architectural, Interior Design, and Land Planning studios. Full Time Position Scope & Responsibilities: THW Design is seeking a dedicated, passionate team member for immediate opportunities as a Senior Architectural Designer experienced in commercial projects, senior living, hospitality, multi-family, residential housing and mix use. The successful candidate will be a self-motivated and well-rounded professional with a solid understanding of technical details, space planning, and programming, leveraging these principles in the design process. Demonstrating a strong work ethic, the candidate will actively engage with firm Principals, Project Managers, Project Architects, and Staff in conceptualizing and executing projects. The Senior Architectural Designer will play a key role in project interviews, concept presentations to clients, and will lead in-house design reviews. Practicing excellent graphic communication skills (sketching and Revit required), the ideal candidate will bring significant experience in all stages of traditional architectural project delivery (SD, DD, CD & CA). Responsibilities include creating project designs, coordinating with building design consultants and monitoring drawings, while also providing training and feedback for junior designers. The candidate will collaborate with senior management and project stakeholders to understand project goals, make informed decisions on overall design and design details, and may assist the project manager in client account management, project scheduling, and budgeting. Qualifications and Skills: Must be comfortable working in a team-oriented, creative, collaborative environment spending time working with other architectural designers while leading space planning, rendering and presentation graphics efforts. An understanding of the programmatic and space-planning requirements of Senior Living project typologies. The ability to organize and execute work based on the priorities and schedules of multiple project teams. Knowledge and competency in software packages including current versions of Revit, Adobe Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, etc.), Google SketchUp, Microsoft Office, etc. Possess an understanding of three-dimensional forms and models. Ability to prioritize and participate in several capacities or projects simultaneously, each in different phases. Initiative and willingness to be responsible for specific tasks. Focus, efficiency, and dependability; willingness to assist when needed. Enthusiasm and eagerness for continued education and development of new skills. Other Qualifications: Minimum of 8 years of experience in Senior Living (related market experience in hospitality, mixed-use and/or multi-family residential will also be considered). Architectural Degree from an accredited College or University. Licensure preferred but not required. Professional experience in an Architectural design office and experience using 3D modeling as a design tool. Prior experience in hospitality, senior living, mixed-use and/or residential projects is a plus.
