Cabinet Design Engineer

Overview Deschutes River Cabinet & Closet is seeking a skilled Cabinet Design Engineer to join our growing team in Bend, OR. This role plays a key part in transforming client designs into accurate, build-ready cabinetry using Cabinet Vision. You’ll work closely with sales and production to ensure smooth project flow and high-quality results. We’re looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, small-team environment and brings strong technical ability, communication skills, and attention to detail. What You’ll Do Engineer custom cabinetry using Cabinet Vision based on blueprints, field measurements, and customer specifications. Produce all project drawings, from initial sales concepts to fully engineered, build-ready plans that align with customer needs. Produce detailed shop drawings including elevations, sections, and component specifications. Generate machining output, cut lists, reports, and CNC-ready files aligned with DRCC construction methods. Collaborate with the in-house designer to perform peer review and quality checks. Maintain and improve the Cabinet Vision library, including UCS and custom standards. Support smooth transitions from sales to production by resolving design questions and documenting project details. Provide Cabinet Vision training to staff as needed. Assist sales and production with design questions, troubleshooting, and customer needs. Perform occasional site visits for final field measurements. Maintain project documentation, version control, and clear communication across departments. What You Bring Extensive experience in custom cabinet engineering. Strong understanding of cabinet construction, fabrication practices, and installation techniques. High proficiency with Cabinet Vision, or closely related software, including UCS coding and development of custom standards. Ability to read, interpret, and produce precise technical drawings. Ability to shift between projects quickly and adapt to changing priorities to keep production schedules on track. Strong math skills including geometry and trigonometry used in cabinet design. Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently within a collaborative team. Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record. Compensation & Benefits Salary: $85,000–$115,000 DOE The upper range reflects mastery of UCS, reports, attributes, bid center, setup packages, parameters, S2M, and tooling, as well as the ability to train others. Benefits: Paid vacation, sick time, holidays, and health insurance. Schedule Monday–Friday 8:00-4:30 Occasional overtime based on workload and customer needs Work Environment This is an onsite position in Bend, OR, supporting close collaboration across sales, design, and production teams.
