Position Title: Program Development Coordinator
Reports to: Executive Director

About Twin Cedars: Founded in 1955, Twin Cedars is a 315-acre nonprofit summer camp and outdoor recreation facility located just outside of Guthrie, Oklahoma.
We serve as a rental facility for other nonprofits, schools, religious groups, and civic organizations, as well as running our own programs, Make Promises Happen, Camp Prism, and Camp Commonground.
Make Promises Happen: Oklahoma’s largest camping and outdoor recreation programs for children and adults with physical and intellectual disabilities.
Camp Prism: Camping and outdoor recreation program for youth who are members of the LGBTQIA+ community.
Camp Commonground: An inclusive day camp program for campers with disabilities and their non-disabled peers, ages 6-12.
Position Summary: The Program Development Coordinator supports the growth and success of Twin Cedars' programs through volunteer recruitment, community partnerships, program development, and operational coordination. This position works closely with staff, volunteers, board committees, and community partners to expand program opportunities, strengthen volunteer engagement, and advance the organization's mission of enriching lives through inclusive outdoor experiences.
Primary Responsibilities:
Volunteer Recruitment & Engagement
Recruit, engage, and onboard volunteers, with a focus on high school students, college students, and individuals interested in serving people with disabilities.
Build and maintain relationships with schools, colleges, universities, community organizations, faith communities, and other volunteer recruitment partners.
Develop innovative recruitment strategies and outreach initiatives to expand and diversify the volunteer pipeline.
Represent Twin Cedars at volunteer fairs, community events, campus activities, and networking opportunities.
Maintain regular communication with prospective and current volunteers throughout the recruitment and onboarding process.
Foster volunteer retention and engagement through relationship-building, recognition, and leadership development opportunities.
Monitor volunteer participation and identify opportunities for increased involvement and long-term retention.
Collaborate with camp leadership to assess volunteer needs and align recruitment efforts with organizational priorities.
Track recruitment activities, maintain accurate records, and achieve volunteer recruitment, retention, and engagement goals established by the Executive Director.
Program Development
Support the development and growth of programs related to outdoor education, school partnerships, corporate retreats, and mid-week rental opportunities.
Research, evaluate, and help implement new programs and enhancements to existing programs.
Collaborate with staff, volunteers, board members, and community partners to advance Twin Cedars' programmatic goals.
Administrative & Operational Responsibilities
Coordinate volunteer application processing, background checks, and reference collection with the Administrative Coordinator.
Serve as staff liaison to the Board of Directors' Program Committee.
Coordinate activity facilitators for retreat season programs and events.
Schedule activities and programming with partner organizations during the summer season.
Develop weekly schedules for seasonal staff.
Assist with the recruitment, hiring, training, and supervision of seasonal program staff.
Support camper outcome measurement efforts, including survey administration and data collection.
Additional Responsibilities:
Assist with fundraising, community engagement, and special events.
Serve periodically as an on-call staff member for Twin Cedars programs and partner organizations.
Perform other duties as assigned that support the mission and strategic goals of Twin Cedars.
Preferred Experience and Qualifications:
The ideal candidate is a proactive self-starter with a strong work ethic, capable of identifying needs, taking ownership of responsibilities, and consistently delivering results.
Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred
Strong organizational skills
Public speaking and presentation skills
Experience working/volunteering for a camp program strongly preferred
Able to communicate in a professional manner via spoken and written communication

Pay: $40,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
