Right Price.Manager, Vendor OutsourcingTitle: Manager, Vendor Outsourcing Duration: 12 months contract Location: Parsippany, NJ/Foster City, CA/Santa Monica, CA Shift: Hybrid Onsite 3 days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) Note: Consultant can choose any one of the work locations mentioned above.Position Summary The Manager, Vendor Outsourcing supports Development Business Operations by leading sourcing and contracting for full-service CRO engagements supporting oncology clinical trials. This role develops and manages sourcing strategies, oversees vendor selection and contracting activities, and partners with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure compliant and efficient outsourcing of clinical research services. The position is responsible for managing the full vendor lifecycle including RFx processes, vendor evaluation, contract negotiation, and performance monitoring to maximize contract value and support clinical development programs.Responsibilities Lead sourcing and contracting activities for CRO services supporting clinical development programs. Develop global vendor sourcing strategies aligned with clinical program or therapeutic area requirements. Manage the full contract lifecycle including RFI, vendor identification, RFP development, vendor selection, contract negotiation, change orders, performance monitoring, and contract closeout. Facilitate vendor bid defense meetings and evaluate vendor proposals and capabilities. Collaborate with internal stakeholders including Clinical Operations, Legal, Finance, Compliance, and Regulatory teams. Translate business requirements into vendor capabilities and provide vendor selection recommendations. Manage complex contract negotiations and ensure contracts align with legal and regulatory standards. Identify risks in vendor selection and contracting processes and implement mitigation strategies. Support development of study specifications and leverage benchmarking tools to inform vendor decisions. Manage relationships with global external service providers supporting clinical trials. Address vendor management challenges including scope adjustments, operational issues, and performance monitoring. Escalate high-risk vendor management issues to appropriate leadership. Identify trends in operational challenges and develop sustainable solutions to improve outsourcing processes. Support process improvements and adoption of best practices in vendor sourcing and category management. Train and support internal stakeholders on contract budgeting, development, and administration processes.QualificationsEducation Requirements BA or MS in a relevant discipline required. MBA or JD preferred.Experience Minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience in vendor outsourcing, strategic sourcing, procurement, or clinical development operations within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.Skills Deep expertise in end-to-end sourcing and contracting processes including RFx, vendor selection, negotiation, and contract lifecycle management. Strong knowledge of the clinical research process and regulatory environment. Financial acumen with ability to analyze complex vendor budgets and cost drivers. Experience working with CROs and external service providers supporting clinical trials. Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills. Ability to influence stakeholders and drive sourcing strategy decisions. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
