Your ability to accurately document exams, maintainefficient patient flow, and support seamless communication will directlycontribute to delivering an extraordinary patient experience.If you’re ready to make every patient interactionexceptional and be part of a culture rooted in service, respect, inclusion, andexcellence, we would love to meet you.As an Ophthalmic Scribe you will provide accurate documentation and summarization of the examination and recommendations, while maintaining patient flow and communication regarding appointment status.ResponsibilitiesMake introductions and establish rapport with patientsInitiate patient evaluation, documenting the chief complaint, history of present illness, review of systems, and all pertinent ocular findings accurately and in accordance with compliance guidelinesAccurately and thoroughly document medical visits and procedures as they are being performed by the physician, and other proceduresCommunicates with patients regarding follow up care, surgeries, procedures, changes in schedule, signs and symptoms, surgery schedulesMaintains and cleans all ophthalmic equipment being usedAbility to document and apply correct ICD-10 and CPT CodesAble to manage multiple projects simultaneously, with strong attention to detail.Effectively navigate NextGen software or applicable EHRComplete requests for prescription refills as authorized by physician, with full documentation in patient chartEducate patients regarding administration of medications Check temperature of medical refrigerator dailyMaintain and conduct inventory of medications and suppliesAssist with maintenance of clinical examination equipmentClean surgical instruments in preparation for sterile processingInspect instruments periodically for damage, send for repair, and request a replacement, as necessaryOpen and close exam lanes daily, ensuring equipment is wiped down in an appropriate manner and as per office procedures, battery powered instruments are seated properly in re-charge wells, slit lamps and projectors are switched off under coversFollow all safety procedures as per guidelinesPrioritize building and maintaining a positive relationship with doctors and clinical colleaguesExecutes duties of position in a professional and courteous mannerHandles sensitive information in a confidential mannerPerform other tasks and duties as assignedQualificationsHigh School diploma or equivalent required.Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate clearly and effectively with patients, staff, managers, and doctors.Basic computer literacy required.
