Assistant Controller

This person will ultimately be responsible for producing accurate and timely financials and be a strong partner to the Controller.ResponsibilitiesReview monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with internal and external reporting requirementsReview all general ledger account reconciliations prepared by staffOversee various audits including annual year end audit, insurance, tax, and other various 3rd party audits. Oversees, monitors and constantly works to improve accounting procedures, internal controls and data base managementManages all financial requests associated with RFQ’s and various marketing requestsMaintain fixed asset ledgers and related transactionsLead and or be highly involved in leadership meetingsManage quarterly bank related requirementsManage a group of 15 with 3-5 direct reportsProvide coaching and training to accounting personnel; develop a career path for 3-5 direct reportsSupport and lead projects around integration of the XL Industries business unit into corporateSupport divisional and corporate initiatives and reportingOther projects as assigned such as software implementations and financial analysisKnowledge, Skills And AbilitiesBachelor’s degree in accounting or business requiredCPA, CMA and/or CCIFP is preferredMinimum 7 years of accounting experience required. Must have worked with the Work in Process(WIP)and have a thorough understanding of inner workings of the balance sheetSupervisory experience of a group of minimum 5-10 is requiredExperience in construction or construction-related industry is requiredExperience with consolidations of multiple entities with intercompany reconciliations requiredExtensive use of job cost accounting systems, preferably Vista by Viewpoint or SAPSignificant experience with Excel and other financial applications such as budgeting and business intelligence packagesComfortable in interacting with all levels of management; approachable with leadership qualitiesPossess strong oral and written communication skillsPossess strong problem-solving skillsPossess entrepreneurial spirit looking for opportunities in the businessMust have strong decision making skillsCore CompetenciesXLI StewardManagerial CourageBridge BuilderPeople BuilderContinuous LearnerBusiness AcumenStrategic EdgeCompensation & BenefitsIn accordance with California’s pay transparency requirements, the base salary range for this position is $142,000 - $160,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
