This position requires strong technical expertise, customer-facing communication skills, and the ability to mentor and support junior technicians. The ideal candidate will provide solutions that improve building performance, resolve service-related issues, and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.Key ResponsibilitiesSystem Troubleshooting & ServiceDiagnose and repair complex HVAC and building automation control systems.Perform preventive maintenance, commissioning, and system startups.Troubleshoot electronic and digital control systems.Modify and test system software and control sequences as needed.Ensure systems operate efficiently and according to project specifications.Customer Support & CommunicationServe as the primary on-site contact for customers.Communicate system status, repairs, recommendations, and upgrade opportunities.Conduct site assessments and provide retrofit or enhancement recommendations.Deliver customer training on control system operation and maintenance.Technical LeadershipMentor and support Controls Technicians and Service Technicians.Provide technical guidance and safety leadership.Assist with training and certification development for junior technicians.Project SupportAssist with system design and configuration.Support project documentation including:As-built drawingsFlow diagramsSequence of operationsElectrical schematicsCloseout documentationCoordinate with project managers, subcontractors, and engineering teams.Assist with material selection, ordering, and tracking.Safety & ComplianceAdhere to all company and customer safety standards.Maintain accurate documentation and reporting.Promote and maintain a safe work environment.QualificationsRequired QualificationsMinimum of 2 years of commercial HVAC controls troubleshooting experience.Experience with:Building automation systems (BAS)Chiller plantsHVAC controls and mechanical systemsVocational school certification, associate degree in a technical field, or equivalent industry experience.Demonstrated ability to install and service electronic control systems.Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.Effective verbal and written communication skills.Ability to explain technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.Working knowledge of:Control theoryAutomatic temperature controlsHVAC systemsBuilding automation systemsPreferred QualificationsExperience with commissioning and startup activities.Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical drawings.Experience supporting retrofit and energy management projects.Prior mentoring or leadership experience.Additional InformationThis role may include opportunities to recommend system upgrades, identify energy-saving solutions, and support additional service sales opportunities.Candidates should be self-motivated, customer-focused, and committed to continuous learning and professional development.Equal Opportunity EmployerWe are an Equal Opportunity Employer and consider all qualified applicants without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity, or any other protected status.
