Administrative Support Specialist I Under the supervision of the Principal, the Administrative Support Specialist I performs general record keeping and other clerical duties.Essential FunctionsReceive, account for, and deposit fundsMaintain cash receipts and disbursement record sheetsType letters, memos, reports, bulletins, schedules, student files and recordsAnswer telephone, process mail, meet the public and provide informationOperate standard office machinesPost a variety of information from standardized sources to various types of control recordsMaintain student registersMaintain various school, student, teacher, and program filesPrepare and maintain payroll and personnel recordsAdminister minor first aid in the absence of the School NursePerform general clerical and routine technical work requiring a qualified typistPrepare, maintain, and record (both electronic and physical) accurate attendance and discipline dataPrepare and maintain fiscal and related recordsPerform other duties as assignedKnowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesGeneral knowledge of bookkeeping terminology, methods and proceduresGeneral knowledge of standard office practices, procedures and equipmentGeneral knowledge of business English, spelling and arithmeticGeneral knowledge of school system routinesGeneral knowledge of basic first aid practicesAbility to develop and follow detailed work proceduresAbility to type accurately and at a reasonable rate of speedAbility to meet the public effectivelyAbility to establish and maintain effective working relationships with othersEducation and ExperienceAny combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school, supplemented by courses in business, typing and bookkeeping and some experience in clerical and/or accounting work
