Java Developer with Oracle DBALocation: Tampa, FL — OnsiteRate: $60/hour on W2Employment Type: ContractWork Arrangement: 100% OnsiteJob SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Java Developer with strong Oracle DBA expertise to join our team in Tampa, FL. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Java application development along with hands-on experience in Oracle database administration, SQL/PL-SQL development, database performance tuning, and production support.The candidate should be comfortable working across both the application development and database administration areas and collaborating with development, QA, DevOps, and infrastructure teams.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, test, and maintain enterprise applications using Java/J2EE.Develop and maintain applications using Spring Boot, Spring Framework, REST APIs, and Microservices.Design, develop, and optimize Oracle database objects, SQL queries, and PL/SQL programs.Perform Oracle DBA activities including database monitoring, configuration, backup, recovery, and troubleshooting.Perform SQL and database performance tuning and identify performance bottlenecks.Develop and maintain stored procedures, functions, packages, triggers, views, and indexes.Analyze and resolve application and database-related production issues.Perform database health checks, capacity planning, and performance monitoring.Support database migration, upgrade, patching, and deployment activities.Work with development teams to optimize application/database interactions.Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and Agile/Scrum ceremonies.Perform root-cause analysis and implement long-term solutions for recurring issues.Maintain technical documentation related to application and database processes.Required SkillsStrong experience in Java/J2EE development.Strong knowledge of Java 8/11/17 or later.Hands-on experience with Spring Boot and REST APIs.Experience with Microservices architecture.Strong experience with Oracle Database.Excellent knowledge of SQL and PL/SQL.Experience with stored procedures, functions, packages, triggers, views, and indexes.Strong knowledge of Oracle database performance tuning.Experience with query optimization and execution plans.Experience with Oracle backup and recovery.Experience troubleshooting production application and database issues.Knowledge of Linux/Unix environments and shell scripting.Experience with Git, Maven/Gradle, Jenkins, and CI/CD.Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.Preferred SkillsOracle RAC and Data Guard experience.Experience with RMAN backup and recovery.Experience with database migration and upgrades.Knowledge of AWS or Azure cloud environments.Experience with Docker/Kubernetes.Experience with Kafka or other messaging technologies.Experience with monitoring/logging tools such as Splunk, AppDynamics, or Grafana.Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.EducationBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.Position DetailsJob Title: Java Developer with Oracle DBALocation: Tampa, FLWork Arrangement: 100% OnsiteRate: $60/hour on W2Duration: ContractInterview: Phone/Video + Client InterviewNote: Candidates must be willing to work onsite in Tampa, FL.
