Emergency Medicine Physician Needed Central Pennsylvania Night Shift Coverage April 2026 StartWPA Medicine Staffing is seeking Emergency Medicine MDs/DOs for night shift coverage across multiple Emergency Departments in Central Pennsylvania, beginning April 27, 2026.This opportunity is best suited for experienced EM physicians who are comfortable with full-scope emergency care, flexible scheduling, and night coverage in well-established community hospitals. Assignment Overview Start Date: April 27, 2026Coverage Type: Night shift coverageSetting: Inpatient Emergency DepartmentsRate:$300/hourTravel Covered: Mileage, lodging, rental car & fuel, ground transportation, parkingCandidates must be local enough to drive in Site & Schedule Details Coverage across two Emergency Departments in the regionOne site features a higher-volume ED ( 45K visits / 53 beds) with 10-hour shifts and variable start timesThe second site is a lower-volume ED ( 19K visits / 27 beds) with 12-hour shiftsShifts include overnight coverage; candidates must be willing to work nightsOccasional mid-level coverage times may be requested if needed Clinical Scope Patient population ranges from pediatrics through geriatricsAcute, emergent, and trauma casesFull procedural scope including:IntubationsChest tubesCentral linesJoint & fracture reductionsJoint aspirationsLaceration repairI&DOther procedures within the scope of an EM residency-trained physician EMR Cerner (with transition to Epic underway) Requirements Completed Emergency Medicine ResidencyBoard Certified ABEM or Osteopathic EM (or truly Board Eligible)Stroke CertifiedMinimum 2 years Emergency Medicine experienceATLS / ACLS / BLS / PALS not required if board certification standards are metWillingness to work night shifts only Why WPA Medicine Staffing Physician-owned and clinician-ledTransparent scheduling and expectationsStreamlined onboarding and credentialingDedicated recruiter partnershipLong-term relationships built on trust and fit Interested?
