Quality Control Specialist

This position works closely with the Quality Manager and production floor to ensure continued good quality parts are produced and shipped to the customer.Essential job functions: Reports to Quality Manager Precision mechanical inspection experience Ability to interpret and apply GD&T First article inspection experience Receiving and In-process inspection experience. Requires the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specification using ASME Y 14.5. GD&T and skillful use of metrology tools and gages required. Programming and operating a CMM as well as other QC inspection functions for precision machined components and assemblies Must be proficient with inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, drop indicators, microscopes, etc. Ability to travel to Supplier's facility to conduct Quality Audits and Inspections Exceptional written and oral communication skills Ability to document and photograph non-conforming parts or material including reporting any inspection results to MRB Must be well organized and be able to prioritize workload in a fast-paced environment Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, requirements, and quality clauses. Working knowledge of Document Control and Configuration Management Computer competency Excel, Word, ERP/MRP, and QMS working experience. Adheres to all environmental, health and safety procedures, equipment, policies, and procedures, including any department specific requirements. Communicate discrepancies to appropriate supervisor. Return products for repair; confirm repairs and product quality Maintain and update quality inspector records Other duties as assigned by Quality Manager Competency: Attention to detail. Ability to work in a team atmosphere as a contributing member. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Good manual Ability to halt a process if required or needed. Physical requirements: Ability to frequently lift, and or move up to 50lbs Ability to sit, stand or walk for at least 10 hours a day Standing / Walking / Bending / Kneeling 95%+ Of Time During Shift Repetitive use of hand(s) Keyboard Use Mouse Use Exposure to excessive noise Qualifications: 1-year experience as inspector High School diploma or GED required Must be a U.S. citizen.
