This role combines physical labor with leadership duties, ensuring the efficient and safe installation and maintenance of utility systems. The Foreman oversees construction operations and ensures compliance with safety standards to keep operations running smoothly. Foreman's experience is pivotal in maintaining Benchmark's high operational standards and fostering a productive work environment.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesSupervises and coordinates daily activity and time reporting of field crewsSupervises daily paperwork execution (toolbox talks, dig permits, etc.)Reviews, understands, and follows project plans and blueprints and track records of materials, deliveries, trucking and subcontractor workExamines and inspects work progress, equipment, and construction sites to verify safety and to ensure that specifications are metTroubleshoots and solves operational problems in a timely manner to minimize downtimeMaintains effective communication with Superintendent, project managers, and subcontractors to resolve issues, report progress, and address changes in project scopeIdentifies and addresses operational challenges or issues that may arise during underground utility installationSupervises and coordinates a team of employees, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and safelyPerforms operations to meet job costs, schedule, and production goalsConducts pre and post operating equipment checksReads and interprets blueprints and construction drawings, specifications, schematics, and technical manuals for equipment installation and repairLocates, measures, and marks site locations or placement of structures or equipment, using measuring and marking equipmentBe accountable of self and entire crew on job siteEnsures compliance with site specifications and safety regulations, and manages quality standards of each projectInspects work progress, equipment, and construction sites to verify safety and to ensure that specifications are metEffectively communicates and resolves conflicts, address workplace disputes, and manage internal issues that arise on the job siteTrains and mentors crew members to enhance technical skills and knowledgeManages performance evaluations for crew membersPerforms other duties, as assignedQualificationsMinimum of five (5) years of hands-on experience in the construction industry, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or foreman roleOSHA 10/30 CertificationsPrevious experience working with subcontractors and managing on-site teams effectivelyRead and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals for equipment installation and repairMust be willing to perform duties of laborer and operator upon demand if necessaryBe available six (6) days a week if neededAbility to utilize mathematical formulas; adding and subtracting totals; multiplying and dividingAbility to work independentlyPhysical stamina and ability to work in all weather conditionsMust have reliable transportation to the assigned jobsite dailyPreferred QualificationsExperience operating large heavy equipmentHigh School Diploma or EquivalentValid Driver's licenseWhy Join Benchmark Utility ServicesBenchmark Utility Services offers competitive compensation, comprehensive benefits and a dynamic work environment that values excellence, teamwork, and professional growth.
